Nisa, an original Washingtonian and Maryland resident, found her calling in dentistry after moving back to the United States from Brasil in 2007. Her passion for helping people is what drew her to the dentistry. Nearing almost ten years, Nisa has enjoyed working with Dr. Matin and the practices dental family in the both clinical and administrative capacity. You can always hear her beaming smile when speaking on the telephone. Her bubbly and spirited personality extends outside the office, especially when she is cheering on the Stanley Cup champions, Washington Capitals. Currently in her spare time, Nisa studies both Japanese and Korean languages. Observing the transformational shift from fear to confidence in patients and their oral health gives purpose and meaning to her dedication to patient care.
Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Karen came to the United States at the age of fourteen. Although she recently joined the Practice, she has over 30 years experience in periodontal and Surgical procedures.
Originally from Peru, Leslie is a long time Maryland resident. Throughout her career, she has assisted in general dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics and has worked on and off with Dr. Matin for over 20 years.
A proud native of Washington, DC, Beth received her dental hygiene degree from Allegany College. Dental hygiene is a true passion of hers. I feel very fortunate to able to go to work every day loving what I do! Her dental hygiene journey began in the Bethesda/ DC area then continued in Florida for 18 years. An opportunity to return to Chevy Chase was presented in 2009 where her expertise expanded into the specialty of periodontics with Dr. Matin. Beth is the founder and director of the Capital Dental Hygiene Study Club where she provides continuing education to hygienists in the Washington DC Metropolitan region. In her spare time, Beth enjoys going to her home in Florida throughout the year. She also enjoys taking trips to Michigan for salmon fishing and boating in southern Maryland. Her passion for creating smiles by equipping patients with the latest tools and techniques, has proven to aid in the improvement of not only oral health care but total body wellness as well.
Dr. Madjid Matin has practiced dentistry since 1989. He has limited his practice to periodontology and surgical dental Implantology since 1991. He established Chevy Chase Dental, a practice dedicated to excellence in regenerative periodontology and dental implantology in 2005. He resides with his wife, Marjan and their two children Romina and Ryan in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Matin received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontics in 1991, and Doctorate of Medical Dentistry in 1989 from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Houston, and earned distinction as a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society.
Dr. Matin is passionate about clinical practice of dentistry as well as teaching and training others to achieve excellence. He is a professor of periodontology at Washington Hospital Center and has been the founding member of several study clubs including the Chevy Chase Millennium Dental Club. A frequent lecturer on advanced topics in periodontics and implantology and has been a featured speaker at several of the annual National Capital Dental Symposiums.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American College of Oral Implantology, the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the American Dental Association. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration. Dr. Matin is a member of numerous local dental study clubs and societies and currently the director of the DC and Maryland chapter of Millennium Study Club.

10/10. I had an urgent situation with a tooth that needed extraction or saving. Dr. Matin went over the options, we proceeded right there and every thing was done in an hour. His staff is amazing, comforting, kind, and professional. I'm grateful to have been referred to Dr Matin and his team.

If you're looking for expertise, a super friendly staff, and an environment you will feel safe and comfortable in, this is the place. I couldn't recommend Dr. Matin more. He has seen me, my husband and our son, and we have only had positive experiences.

This is the best dental office in every way. Beth, the dental hygienist, is second to none! Nisa at the front desk couldn't be more thoughtful and helpful and Dr. Matin is terrific. I HIGHLY recommend this practice.

Going to the dentist is never one's idea of a good time, let alone an periodontist. But if one's gums are in need of corrective surgery, Dr Marin should be your periodontist. The office is modern and accessible. The staff is professional and courteous. Dr. Matin is skilled and explained everything fully, which was reassuring. My outcome was excellent. I hope I never have to see Dr. Matin again, professionally, but his chair side manner and engaging personality would be welcome at any social engagement.

Dr. Matin and his entire staff are outstanding. Hands down the best periodontist in the area. Dr. Matin performed gum surgery and I was made so comfortable from the initial appointment til the final checkup. Nisa does an incredible job at the front of office and makes you feel comfortable from bevy to end. I would highly recommend Dr. Matin as your periodontist.

From the initial phone call to schedule a new pt consult, to now being an established patient, I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Matin and his office staff. His office manager, Nisa is so knowledgeable about the whole financial process. Although the office does require you to pay up front for services, Nisa guided me through the claim submission process and ensured to follow up with any inquiries from my dental insurance. Nisa is super friendly and attentive to all questions and concerns I had. She even went above and beyond to obtain dental records from my previous providers. It was a pleasure meeting with Dr. Matin. He did a thorough exam of all my teeth and he took the time to explain what my options were. I appreciated his honesty and I am confident in the treatment plan we came up with. His assistant and hygienist were also nice and very gentle throughout the whole x-ray and teeth cleaning process. I would definitely recommend Dr. Matin's office to friends and family!

Dr. Matin is outstanding. Not only is he the best periodontist who performs his surgeries expertly, he is kind, caring, supportive, and honest. I am pretty sure he is the best in his field and respected by all of his colleagues and patients. And, Beth is the best dental hygienist I have ever had and far surpasses any other dental hygienist. When she cleans my teeth, it is almost like a spa treatment. Can you imagine that? And, Nisa is absolutely outstanding as the practice administrator. This team is an A+ team.
