Walden Yu was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelors degree in Anthropology and received his dental degree from USC. His post-graduate education in Pediatric Dentistry was completed at USC with a hospital residency at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Yu is a diplomate and fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a Subject Matter Expert in Pediatric Dentistry for the State of California. Dr. Yu is a member of various dental organizations including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, West Los Angeles Dental Society, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry and is a member of the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Chang attended UCLA for the entirety of her dental training. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1994, graduating cum laude. Continuing her education, she specialized in both Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, while simultaneously obtaining a Masters degree in Oral Biology in 1997. She greatly appreciates the relationships established with patients and families, this is the most rewarding aspect of her practice.
In her free time, Dr. Chang enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family. As a dedicated lifelong learner, she has expanded her creative interests to include carpentry, home improvement, knitting, piano, sewing and gastronomical delights.
Dr. Mae Aghili is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, making her a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mae Aghili obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned her D.D.S. degree from the University of Southern California (USC), where she dedicated much of her time to treating children of underserved areas. She was a staff member with the USC Mobile Clinic, Ayuda, and Childrens Dental Clinic.
Upon completing dental school, Dr Aghili went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at UCLA. She then went into private practice treating adults and children in greater Los Angeles. Dr. Aghilis lifelong passion of working with children led her to complete a two year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at USC and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. This vast experience allowed her to treat infants and children with extensive medical and physical illnesses.
Dr. Mae believes that all children deserve to have excellent care, and she strives to create a positive and supportive environment for children of all ages. She believes that a patients first dental visit should be a pleasant one. She believes in the power of prevention and has a family-centered approach.
Dr. Aghili is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Los Angeles Dental Society.
Dulce has been an RDA for over 10 years and loves it! She especially loves making little ones comfortable at the dentist and she she excels at this since she has worked with children for many years. Her experience of working with children started during her senior year of high school with the Future Educators teaching PE (physical education) at a local elementary school. Then in college, she worked in a daycare. She has always enjoy caring for children and treat our patients like she would her own family. In her spare time, she loves to camp with her family at Sequoia National Forest.
For around three years, Graciela has been working at Walden Yu, DDS, APC. Each day she resolves insurance and payment-related questions. She tries to make sure no one leaves the office with any unanswered questions.
Since summer of 2017, Caitlyn has worked with Walden Yu, DDS, APC. Caitlyn received her Bachelor of Science in biology at UCLA. In the near future she wants to apply for dental school and specialize in orthodontics.
When she first started in her position, she was nervous, having little previous experience in the dental field. Thanks to her wonderful coworkers and teachers, she has been able to grow into a wonderful employee, person and future healthcare professional. Each day she does her best to show our patients excellent customer service.
For over three years, Karen has been working at Walden Yu, DDS, APC as a dental assistant. She graduated from the Pasadena City College dental assisting program in 2013. Currently, she is in the process of becoming a dental hygienist.
Karen loves seeing the change in children as they come into the office nervous, then leave with a smile after having enjoyed seeing the dentist. She keeps patients calm while receiving treatment and makes friendly conversation with the kids to help them forget their nervousness. Karen works hard to make sure each patients visit goes smoothly. She says that generally, the patients can feel the friendly atmosphere at Walden Yu, DDS, APC. People enjoy coming in.
For over five years, Janeth has been working in the dental field. Four of those years have been spent with Walden Yu, DDS, APC. She is currently attending West LA college with the goal of applying to the dental hygiene program.
Quality patient care is Janeths goal at work. She genuinely enjoys working with the kids who come to our office. Janeth helps each patient to feel comfortable at our office. She helps each one to go through their procedures in an easy, peaceful way.
Jose has been with our team for two years, and has more than 13 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant. He loves being part of our dental family and caring for people in our office and in our community.
Jose grew up in Culver City and graduated from the high school here in this area. He has a wonderful wife and daughter with whom he spends all his free time. He enjoys taking his daughter to the arcade, mini golfing, going on road trips, camping and playing videos games.
Ro is our back office orthodontic assistant, and loves changing lives by creating beautiful smiles. Ro has an 18-year-old daughter who is majoring in American Sign Language, and in her spare time she enjoys going to concerts and to Disneyland with her daughter.
