Dr. Beer is well-educated with advanced degrees in her discipline. She graduated magna cum laude from Yeshiva University with her BA in Biology. She continued her academic career at Columbia University in the School of Dental and Oral Surgery. At Columbia, she received her masters degree while serving as an AEGD fellow. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the same institution.

During her fellowship, she provided comprehensive dental care, including treatment planning, restorative, endodontic, and emergency services. At the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Beer acquired additional skills in their Postgraduate Periodontics Program. In this program, she spent four years researching the identification of silvery proteins that inhibit Streptococcus Mutans.

Dr. Beer is an accomplished periodontist with more than ten years of experience working in dentistry. As a dental associate, she regularly provides comprehensive periodontal therapy, including diagnosis, scaling and root planing, osseous surgery, free tissue grafting, implant placement, ridge augmentation, external and internal sinus elevation, guided tissue regeneration (GTR), and guided bone regeneration (GBR). Professionally, she is affiliated with the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Northeast Society of Periodontists.

Dr. Lisa Nava Cohen is a best-in-class dental surgeon and board-certified endodontist. She specializes in diagnosing and treating tooth pain and tooth damage, whether from decay, disease, or injury. When you come in for a dental visit with Dr. Cohen, you will experience her caring demeanor, professionalism, and commitment firsthand. She is dedicated to the ideal treatment of each patient, and that means treating the person as well as the teeth!

Dr. Cohen earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 2005, then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System. She practiced as a general dentist for several years both in the United States and abroad, where she excelled in many areas of general dentistry and benefitted from the exposure to diverse patient populations.

After choosing to pursue specialty training in endodontics, Dr. Cohen returned to the Veterans Affairs and was once again privileged to care for our nations veterans. She obtained her certificate from the Manhattan VA Endodontic program and continued on to become a board certified endodontist.

Dr. Cohen is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontics and a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She believes in incorporating the latest research and technological advances into her practice of dentistry. When shes not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Ariel and their five children at their home in Passaic, NJ.
