She graduated from New York University Dental School in 1999, and since has practiced dentistry in private offices and University Hospitals in several locations including New York City, Barcelona (Spain), and presently in Chicago.
Dr. Sorensens mission is to provide comprehensive dental services to the older adult population as she believes oral health is a fundamental right regardless of age, and a reflection of a persons overall health and well-being. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and an excellent communicator.
Dr. Sorensen lives in Chicago with her husband, four sons, and her nine year old Great Dane. In her free time she enjoys reading, music, and travelling with her family. She speaks English and Norwegian and is fluent in Spanish and Catalan.
MaryBeth brings over 35 years of outstanding Office Manager/ Treatment Coordinator/Financial experience in the medical and dental field to Dr. Blumofes staff. MaryBeth expresses compassion and exceptional listening skills to work with individuals in a time of need, a valuable asset to the practice. Her true passion is to go that extra mile to ensure that the patients/families have received great customer service from start to finish and a quality experience.
MaryBeth has been born and raised in Illinois. Married, with 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren. In her off time, she loves to garden, cook and travel. Most importantly, making memories with her family.

We contacted the practice because our 95 year-old mom, an Alzheimers patient in memory care, was having mild discomfort in her mouth. They did a quick assessment and immediately recommended 3 extractions. A few months later when she again experienced mild discomfort, extraction of 3 teeth was again recommended. No x-rays were ever taken. When we sent an email with detailed questions about the recommended procedure, it was almost a week before we received a reply. When we finally did, none of our questions were answered; instead, we were told to bring her to an oral surgeon. As the name implies, My Geriatric Dentist focuses on the highly vulnerable geriatric population, many of whom do not have advocates. The fact that they quickly recommended extractions and were unwilling to address our questions raises numerous red flags.

My father absolutely loved Dr. Blumofe. Her office staff are so friendly and helpful. If you have an elderly parent who needs dental services, I highly recommend her!

Everyone is so kind here. My mom is in a nursing home and they took the time to help the residents there. My mom being one of the residents. Her dentures did not fit well and always were loose. Dr. Blumofe took care of my mom and now she has a beautiful smile and her dentures fit. Thank you so much to Dr. Blumofe and Jamie for your kindness and help.

I've worked with Dr. Blumofe, her associates and professional, caring team for the last four years. As dentists for our memory care assisted living community, they are exceptionally patient and engaging with our residents. They not only provide excellent dental services, but have developed trusting, personalized relationships with our residents, as well. We also appreciate the times they've been available for special visits, when urgent dental care has been needed. The office team has worked diligently with us to make sure all pre-visit arrangements and details are addressed and handled smoothly. Everyone's communications are thorough and reliable. I am Medical Power of Attorney for my dear friend Paula Weiner, who is 85 and lives in an wonderul assisted living facility, Wesley Place. Paula cannot stand or walk, and so needs all medical-dental to come to her. Dr. Blumofe and MyGeriatric Dentist examined Paula's broken upper denture, and determined she needed a new one. They took impressions and fit her new denture at Wesley Place, and treated Paula with total respect as they created the needed denture. It fits wonderfully, and Paula is now off of 100% pureed foods and back on some solid foods! And smiling bigger than ever! Thansk to Wesley Place for arranging for MyGeriatric Dentist, and to Dr Blumofe and her wonderul staff for treating Paula with such care and respect!

The wonderful people at My Geriatric Dentist have provided such terrific care for my mom and that brings my family great peace seeing that we live so far away. My mom enjoys their care visits so much and the visits leave her so happy. All of the staff have been personally communicative and so helpful. We are very grateful this team of caring people is there for my mom.
