She told me I had nine cavities, I went to another dentist and they said I had none

I went to her years ago and every time I was in there I needed major work done. She wanted to replace old fillings and do root canals. I understand that I needed work done, but it was out of control. You couldn't even sit in the chair until you paid her first. I switched dentists and never felt that they are ripping me off, like I did with her. Never again!

They canceled my appointment without contacting me first. They are a complete waste of time and extremely unprofessional

Filled a cavity that wasn't there, said I had two more so I went to another dentist. No cavities. The filling she did wasn't even done properly and had to be fixed.

Mixed results.... I've gone to Lily Zhangs office for routine/preventative visits, and more comprehensive services visits. The routine visits have been great - the cleanings are quick, thorough, and minimal pain. I've had extractions - Lily Zhang provided the easiest, pain-free extractions. I've also had a root canal on a tooth I never reported as painful (when other work was needed) - the root canal has been painful since it's completion (about 4-5 months). Also, the cap on the root canal (made in the office) is aesthetically subpar, doesn't fit appropriately, and cost a lot more than perfect looking bridge did on a per-tooth basis. I'm schedule to have the tooth that we did a root canal on extracted just 5 months after I paid >$800 for the root canal and cap..... The office atmosphere is clean, friendly, and never once attempted to charge me upfront for anything. I will most definitely continue to go to Lily Zhang for my yearly preventative visits.

I know that reviews can become emotionally charged therefore I am going to do my best to outline the FACTS of my experience with Dr. Lily Zhang, DMD in Kingston, NY, and let you, the consumer, decide for yourself if this is a dentist you would like to trust with your teeth and bank account. *I have seen a dentist every 6 months for check ups and cleanings consistently for the last 15 years. During that time, one cavity was found, that was approximately 6 years ago. I recently relocated to the Kingston area and saw Dr. Zhang as a first time patient in May 2019 (exactly 6 months after my previous check up and cleaning with my previous dentist where no issues were found). In that 6 months, there have been no significant changes to my diet or dental hygiene habits and I have not experienced any pain or discomfort with my teeth or sensitivity to sweets, hot or cold. *I decided to see Dr. Zhang because on a rudimentary Google search she had great reviews. After seeing her, I dug deeper and found the 5 star reviews I first saw are on the Yellow Pages website. 16 of the 17 reviews were posted in a one month span in December 2015 - all 5 stars. Upon further investigation the same was true for several other review sites. I am aware of services that charge businesses to post good reviews online from different IP addresses. *Dr Zhang's hygienist gave me an exam and I had full panoramic x rays taken. Hygienist noted that I had 10-12 cavities and gave me a kindergarten level talking to about how dental hygiene works. *Dr. Zhang then examined my teeth and confirmed that I needed fillings on ten teeth, possibly multiple fillings on some teeth and that I would require crowns on 5 teeth. She was aware of the fact that I did not have dental insurance and quoted a range of what would be required to complete the work. It totaled a minimum of $6,300, and without knowing if some teeth needed multiple fillings, that number could have been significantly higher. *I asked if I signed up for dental insurance if the work could wait. Firmly, she told me I would end up needing root canals in all of these problem teeth if I waited even 6 months. *Dr Zhang said that she could perform the procedures immediately (meaning no need to schedule another appointment and come back) if I wanted to get started right away, they had time to start the procedure for 5 crowns and a minimum of 5 fillings immediately. I declined. *I scheduled an appointment for a 2nd opinion with a different dentist. This dentist confirmed what my previous dentist had always said: I did not have any cavities, yes there is some occlusion, but no need to do any fillings or bonds unless I developed sensitivity or experienced any pain or discomfort with my teeth. This dentist also looked at the x rays from Dr Zhang's office and said there would be no way an insurance company would approve the work she was proposing my teeth needed.

Overpriced! Rude! Always claims you need more work done than is necessary... Deep cleaning, filling cavities that don't exist. She needs her license revoked!
