AUREA / FRONT DESK COORDINATORAurea has been a part of Dr. Leon Changs practice for many years. She shares the responsibilities of both chairside and front desk coordinator. Aurea received her RDA training at Chabot College. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her 3 grandchildren. She also loves yoga.

ELIZA / REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANTEliza has been one of our Licensed Registered Dental Assistant since 2001. She attended Bryman College and graduated from their Dental Assisting Program in 2001.When not at work, Eliza loves spending time with her two kids and husband, and is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Practitioner.

KELLY / REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANTKelly has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1997. She has worked at Dr. Leon Chang's office since January 2000. She went to school at Eden Area ROP in Hayward for dental assisting. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her kids.

Katie has been in the dental field for approximately 15 years.She was a dental assistant for 10 years, and then was given the opportunity to go back to school to further her education and become a dental hygienist.Katie graduated from Carrington College and enjoys caring for her patients and educating them on their oral health.In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her family.

UMA / REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENISTUma has been a dental hygienist for over fourteen years.She loves interacting with her patients at Leon Chang, DDS educating them about their oral health.Uma has been married for 25 years, and has two boys. She hikes every weekend, and spends time with family.

HOLLIE / REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENISTHollie graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Foothill College in 1992, and has worked at Dr. Leon Changs office since that time. She feels very fortunate to have made so many wonderful friendships with her co-workers and patients over the past 26 years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, doing crafts and experiencing local towns.

SILVIA / REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENISTSilvia received her A.S. Dental Assisting from Modesto Junior College in 1985. She decided to continue her education and become a dental hygienist. Silvia received her A. A. in Dental Hygiene from Chabot College in 1989. She has been part of Dr. Leon Chang's great office for 29 years. The best part of her job is when her patients feel like family. That is a benefit of being in same office for so many years. Silvia has been happily married for 26 years, and has two adult children. She enjoys working out, reading and spending time with family.

DIANE / REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENISTAfter having spent almost 2 years in France, Diane graduated with a teaching degree from Anna Maria College, Paxton Mass. After living in California and raising a family of 3 girls, she decided to change career from teaching to Dental Hygiene since there was a major lay-off. She has also acquired an additional Hygiene Licensure to serve the Elderly and Special Needs patients. Diane has two grandchildren whom she adores. Besides them, her other passion is soccer: She manages a co-ed soccer team and plays on several teams.

Dr. Leon Chang became owner of his practice in 2013 after being an associate dentist of Dr. Barr and Dr. Poindexter from 2000 to 2006, and partners with them from 2007-2012.He was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and now lives with his family in Union City, the community where he works.

Dr. Chang received his undergraduate degree from The University of California, Riverside and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Southern California. Before joining the dental practice in Union City, he gained experience as an associate dentist at various practices in the East Bay. His primary interest is family dentistry, and he actively participates in continuing education courses throughout the year to stay current and progressive with the latest techniques.

Dr. Amy Chan has been in practice for over 18 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is passionate about family and pediatric dentistry. In her quest to make sure her patients get the quality care they deserve, Dr. Chan stays up to date with the latest technology and techniques by continually taking courses to expand her knowledge.She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of California, Irvine, then went on to the University of Southern California School of Dentistry to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.Dr. Chan is a member of the Southern Alameda Dental Society and the California Dental Association.

Dr. Tru Tran grew up in the Bay Area and attended the University of California, Berkeley for his undergraduate studies. He completed his dental school training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.

Dr. Tran then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry postdoctoral residency program at the NYU Langone Hospitals site in Honolulu, HI. He keeps current with the the latest techniques and technology through continuing education courses on a regular basis.

Dr. Tran has also volunteered time in local community service events such as Give Kids a Smile and CDA Cares. He looks forward to providing quality care and developing life-long relationships with his patients.
