Dr. Lee Boyd Pediatric Dentistry is located in Allen, Kentucky. Our goal is to deliver the best possible dental and orthodontic care for infants, children, teens and anyone with special healthcare needs. Our team will strive to make sure that your child has a positive experience while maintaining the highest standard of safety. There are some guidelines that help us keep the environment safe for us all.

Cell phones can be a tremendous distraction so we politely ask that you keep your cell phones off or in airplane mode. If you must take a call, we ask that you answer the phone outside the treatment and exam areas.

Pictures and camera phones are a great way to document your childs first dental experience. However, there are times when this activity may not be appropriate. Please be courteous to other patients, parents and team members, and ask before taking pictures or filming in our office.

Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. This includes deductibles and co-insurance. We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards. We also take Care Credit.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on Dr. Lees knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.

Your initial exam will last approximately 30 minutes. Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

Dr. Boyd has been setting the highest standards in dentistry since July 1996. Dr. Boyd's education includes attending Allen Elementary School, graduating from Prestonsburg High School in 1987 and attending the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate work. He then obtained his dental degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1994. After dental school he completed two years of additional training in pediatric dentistry at Louisiana State University in 1996.

Away from the office Dr. Boyd is married with three children. He is one of the pastors of Destination Community Church and volunteers with East Kentucky Missions, providing dental treatment to people in Haiti, Peru and Trinidad. Dr. Boyd also enjoys University of Kentucky sports, scuba diving and spending time with his family.

A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education. We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their cavities fixed but rather to prevent them. Our office provides all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.

When a Pediatric Dentist is Board Certified it means that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or ABPD certifies that the dental care being provided is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a Pediatric Dentist like Dr. Boyd has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality
