Dr. Lawrence Toohers has been practicing dentistry in New Jersey for the past 25 years. Born and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, he attended Bloomfield High School and then went on to the University of Scranton on a soccer scholarship. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1985. After graduating from Scranton, Dr. Toohers pursued a long-standing goal of obtaining a degree in dental medicine and graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1989.
In 1990, he opened a dental practice in West Orange, New Jersey and has practiced with his wife Dr. Susan Ramsthaler since then. Their West Orange practice is committed to providing patients with the finest dental care in the most comfortable and professional environment.
Dr. Susan Ramsthaler has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years. She grew up in Clifton, New Jersey and attended Paul VI Regional High School. She then went on to Villanova University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1985. After graduating from Villanova, she enrolled in the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and graduated in 1989 with a degree in dentistry.
Dr. Ramsthaler currently practices with her husband, Dr. Lawrence Toohers, who she met in dental school. In her spare time, Dr. Sue devotes her time to her three sons, countless sporting events and visits to Long Beach Island.

We our Dr. Toohers! He's been seeing us since my husband and I got together so that's like 19 years!!!! And now he's our boys dentist. He's so sociable, empathetic, gentle and always in great spirits. My kids don't ever complain about going to the dentist. They love the staff there.

LOVE IT THERE! Super clean! EXTREMELY friendly staff, had Alyssa clean my teeth and she was awesome. Dr.Toohers came in afterwords and we discussed my one main issue and not only did he suggest oral surgeons that could help me, but ones that also take my insurance! Absolutely wonderful experience, definitely recommend seeing Dr.Toohers & his staff.

LOVE IT THERE! Super clean! EXTREMELY friendly staff, had Alyssa clean my teeth and she was awesome. Dr.Toohers came in afterwords and we discussed my one main issue and not only did he suggest oral surgeons that could help me, but ones that also take my insurance! Absolutely wonderful experience, definitely recommend seeing Dr.Toohers & his staff.

Dr. Toohers and Dr. Ramsthaler are exceptional dentists. They take the time to completely understand your dental needs and concerns. While other medical and dental offices may double, or over, book appointments, these dentists give you the time necessary to attend to your specific dental care. These two knowledgeable professionals were recommended to me over 20 years ago, and not only are my family patients, but I have further recommended them to many others, as well.
