Opposed to traditional brackets held in place by rubber ties, the Damon Bracket System is designed with a slide mechanism that attaches wires to brackets. With traditional braces, creating space and developing arch form often requires bulky headgear and uncomfortable expanders, and at times even extraction of teeth. The Damon System approach uses light, biologically-sensible forces to develop beautiful natural arches, in most cases without the need for expanders or extractions.
Following dental school Dr. Vitkus completed additional post-graduate training in orthodontics, making her a specialist in the field. In our office we focus solely on orthodontic treatment so we can provide you with most effective, efficient orthodontic care.
We offer flexible in-office financing interest free, and will work with you to develop a payment plan that best fits your needs. In addition, we accept most insurance plans and will verify and file your insurance for you as a courtesy.
Communication is key. We pride ourselves on having excellent communication with both our patients and our patients other doctors. You and your family will be given continual updates on the progress of your treatment, and we will always help coordinate care between you and your family dentist.

I received my degree in civil engineering prior to attending dental school, and decided to pursue a career in orthodontics as I found it allowed me to combine the mechanics of engineering with the attention to detail of dentistry. Orthodontics allows me to be an engineer of the mouth if you will.
As a native of the Finger Lakes region, Im thrilled to be back living and working in this beautiful area. In addition to developing beautiful smiles, an equally enjoyable part of my day is getting to know all of our wonderful patients. Dr. Vitkus grew up not to far away in Skaneateles, New York. She attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island where she majored in Civil Engineering. At Brown, Dr. Vitkus was a standout on the lacrosse fieldshe served as captain of the Brown Division I Womens Lacrosse team and was awarded All-Ivy and All-American honors. She attended dental school at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she served as Buffalo American Student Dental Association President. She graduated top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. Following dental school, Dr. V did an additional residency where she studied exclusively orthodontics, making her a specialist in this field. Dr. V obtained her orthodontic certificate from the prestigious Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York, while concurrently working to receive her Masters Degree in Dental Science from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She belongs to the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), American Dental Association (ADA), Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO) and American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and currently serves on both NESOs Communications Committee and the AAO Council on Communications. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, skiing, cooking, running, coaching and spending time with her family, friends and fianc Tim, who is also an orthodontist.
