January 2022: 2021 was known as the year of the Great Resignation. We had many obstacles to overcome but I saw it as a challenge to rise and not quit. Our office culture is not only patient centered but employee centered for a great experience. My biggest Bravo is for my team that did not quit on me or give excuses. They SHOWED up everyday and rose to the occasion and tapped into each individuals potential to give the patient a great experience. My team inspires me more than ever to be a great Endodontist and Leader.

Dr. Lauren T. Phan, DDS - Endodontist in Pleasanton, CA

April 2021: Dr. Phan is always motivated to train and ensure that our staff are poised to take care of patients with text book preparation. This is why Dr. Phan always wants her own images! Expect a desire to perform to ones best ability everyday! Meet our office mascot, Dexter. You may see him when you exit the back door.

2020 is a year we would all like to put behind us for better or for worse. For some, their inner strength showed forth. For others, it exposed some needed changes for self improvement. Here is a toast to the challenges, the resiliency, new beginnings, difficult transitions, and letting go. Ultimately, I wish peace and happiness to everyone. If you put it in perspective, we faced a moment in time like no other where the world stopped together and must now work together. Pretty fascinating and mind boggling, I think. Now lets make 2021 awesome!

December 2020: We celebrated with Christmas sweaters and masks! I surprised each member with personal champagne, flutes, and chocolates to ring in 2021 and a socially distance catered meal to eat in their own privacy! Happy Holidays! We are fortunate to have the opportunity to help others in dental pain, to be safe, and to be resilient during these challenging times.

December 2020: We are excited to have Seonaid here to greet you on the phone and here at the office Monday-Thursday. She comes with great knowledge in Dentistry. She is an RDA, who was a clinical instructor at a Dental Assisting Program and worked in the front for a well established dental office in Alameda.

Dr. Lauren T. Phan, DDS - Endodontist in Pleasanton, CA

Thank you for considering my practice. I truly find it to be an honor and a privilege to provide my expertise to help maintain something as simple, yet daunting to most, your teeth with root canal therapy. I come from very humble beginnings and truly appreciate every opportunity I have been given in my life to provide for my patients, my staff, and my community. With my experience, I am practical and provide the minimal endodontic therapy that is maximally achievable. I stay abreast with the technology but am conscious to do what is necessary and not follow the trends of new therapies withoutfurther long term researched-evidence. I am amazed at the human capacity to heal everyday and that root canals are a viable option to restore ones oral health. I will always be a student and my craft improves everyday from experience and perspective -Lauren Phan

  • Work Experience Dr. Phan is most proud of her work experience: mostly good, but also the challenges, mistakes, and the failures. This is what has shaped her clinical commitment, expertise, philosophy, and how she leads her team. Becoming a skilled clinician with compassion rather than being a doctor scientist with accolades was and still is her goal. She has performed 1000s of endodontic procedures and surgeries for the sole intention to retain the natural dentition for over 20 years in a diverse setting. Dr. Phan practiced as a general dentist in multiple practices in Chicago and the Chicagoland Suburbs performing only root canal therapy. She even worked at some practices until 11pm! She then worked as an Endodontist in multiple general practices in Walnut Creek, San Jose, and Pleasanton. She also worked as an Endodontist in a predominantly HMO clinic in West Sacramento. She was also an Endodontic Associate for a quality oriented Endodontic Private Practice in Pinole. All of these work experiences inspired her to build a specialty practice from scratch before she was 30 years old: The Endodontic Center of Pleasanton.

  • In 2014, Dr. Phan was approached and invitedto tell her story by an anonymous female medical surgeon. The anonymous surgeonsmission was to feature female healthcare providersand the stories behind their mask as a way to encourage other females that one can be intelligent, skilled, and feminine. Considering our current pandemic climate nowwith COVID19, it is interesting that thisanonymoussurgeon noted the term PPE to Dr. Phans infection control routine. This has always been the case in Dr. Phans office since she first opened in 2006! Dr. Phans story and collage of pictures were created by the anonymous writer and featured on her site after interviewing Dr. Phan:

Arriving with nothing & working to find everything. Dr. Lauren is not on social media, but she is amazing. As a Board Certified #Endodontistpracticing in NorCal, Dr. Lauren knows the depths of despair her parents fled war-torn Vietnam & came to the U.S. w/ nothing. Dr. Lauren spoke passionately about her parents who did everything they could, including working multiple jobs, to provide her the opportunity to live the American dream. Dr. Lauren is the 1st one in her family to attend college, where she excelled & found a passion in science & working w/ her hands characteristics that suited her for dentistry. Dr. Lauren wanted to specialize & found #endodonticsto be a specialty that was misunderstood & challenging. After all, the 1st thought when hearing the term #rootcanalis not one of pleasure. But thats the challenge shes embraced bringing a compassionate touch to a specialty reliant on much precision & dexterity to alleviate great pain. Also, Dr. Lauren loves the challenge of trying to save a tooth when others feel it cant be salvaged. Dr. Lauren is a huge advocate of safety both for her patients & her team. 25% of her work is invasive surgical procedures where she wears full #PPE& goes above-and-beyond to ensure successful outcomes & mitigate any risk of infection. Dr. Lauren was so proud to be the only female in her Endodontics Residency program of 4. She feels that it provided her the extra motivation to prove that she was an equal or even superior to the boys. She feels great responsibility now to pay-it-forward by mentoring an associate that she has brought in to her practice. Outside of saving teeth, Dr. Lauren is a loving wife to another Endodontist who inspires her every day to be the best Lauren & to embrace a healthy lifestyle with exercise. Dr. Lauren is also a devoted mother to 2 girls she spoke movingly about participating on my page as a means to show her daughters the range of AMAZING that exists in so many different areas & in so many different forms. I am so proud to feature Dr. Lauren an amazing woman, endodontist, mother, wife, daughter, mentor & business owner who indeed saw the American dream& worked so hard to grab it.

Did not shed a tear and I'm allergic to pain, it makes my eyes water. Writing this 36 hours post op as a very pleasantly surprised patient. 2 root canals in Fremont in the last 15 years were a very different experience altogether. From the front desk to the medical assistants to my new superhero, "Dr., Magic Hands, Phan" I will go nowhere else for treatments. Narry a pinch could be felt to start things off getting numbed up. Actually caught myself SNORING during the root canal! Post treatment instruction followed diligently and still NO PAIN! UROK Doc. Thank you and your staff so very much.

I turned up at Dr Phan's with a very nasty tooth which had given me extreme pain for several days. She diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently, I can honestly say this was the best experience I've ever had when receiving root treatment. I was made very comfortable throughout the whole process. Her work was top notch and I loved how she kept me informed every step of the way. The staff where warm and friendly and the office was clean and pleasant. It's a relief to know if I ever need treatment again I've found a great place. I highly recommend Dr Phan and her staff.

I did root canal treatment. The process was as smooth as it could be. Also great communication with my primary dentist, allowed to perform all the check and treatment in a just visit. Highly recommend.

They have done a really good job when doing my root canal I have experience this before it's not so bad. I best advice I can give to future patients is to stay claim and try not to be nervous.

Dr. Phan is AMAZING! I'm someone who gets very anxious and nervous with anything around dental procedures. Dr. Phan took the time to explain everything and made the process as painless as possible. Even better yet, the procedure only took one visit whereas the other office I went to needed 3 different visits to do the same operation. The office staff members were also very courteous and friendly too!

Second visits in 6 months for different tooth. Both times the service I had from Dr. Phan and her staff are absolutely top notch. They are very professional and super friendly. Dr. Phan could still remember the conversation we had in my first visit almost 6 months ago - very impressive how much she cares for her patients. Hopefully I don't have to visit her again , but nonotheless I would give wholehearted recommendation to anyone in need of her service and help!

First off, I don't like having to go into any dentist, let alone seeing an endodontist for an abcsess, but I did. The procedure was done in the time frame prescribed. It was done well. The pain I feel post surgery is minimal. Dr. Phan explained everything the day of my consult, and again the day of the procedure. I had my stress ball, which was used for maybe 15 minutes The entire staff made things easy, and as stress free as they possibly could make it. Even the x-rays weren't horrible and I have a massive gag reflex. If I ever need an endodontist again, it will be Dr.Phan, though I am hoping to not have to.

Only high remarks for the root canal done by Dr Pham. She certainly knows what she's doing. From the beginning & to the end of the procedure no pain nor discomfort at all. Didn't even need to take pain killers after sedation ran off. She's very caring & so her staff. Extremely clean facilities & excellent customer service. Shannon is great. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

My experience having a root canal with Dr. Phan couldn't have gone any better. I was numbed very well prior to the procedure and did not feel any discomfort whatsoever. I was provided a warm blanket to use during my procedure which made me even more comfortable and relaxed. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind and helpful to any questions I had. The following day after my procedure, I hardly had any soreness and almost forgot I had just had a root canal the previous day. Dr. Phan did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend her!

The office staff of Dr. Phan's clinic is very friendly and helpful. Since my case was almost urgent, they gave me a next-day appointment. The indications for the after procedure care were very clear on what to do in case of pain.

Dr. Lauren Phan was outstanding. She was very welcoming as was her staff. I felt very comfortable in her chair while she prepped for the procedure. She had the best playlist going. Moonlights as a DJ apparently. The music was at the perfect volume to relax and soften the noise of her instruments. She is a master of her craft. Very at ease and confident with every step of the procedure. Always reassuring asking if I was doing ok. I didn't feel one of the injections or a second of pain. I've had 2 other root canals and Dr. Phan was the standout. Thank you so much.
