Dr. Holena is from the Wyoming Valley and only lived outside the area for school. She is originally from Bear Creek Twp., and now resides in Laflin. Dr. Holena graduated as valedictorian of Coughlin High School and then went on to graduate from Penn State University. She attended dental school at the University of Buffalo.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Holena did a 1 year residency at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. She then worked in a group practice for 12 years, focusing on children and special needs. After 12 years, Dr. Holena decided it was time to start her own practice.
Dr. Holena keeps herself very busy outside of work. She is active in the dog sport community with her chocolate labs, Team CoffeeDogs. She is currently President of Keystone DockDogs. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Column of Hope, an organization devoted to raising funds for Chiari Malformation, syringomyelia, and related disorders.
Dr. Holena has extensive experience treating special needs patients of all ages and children. She has spoken at several national conferences. She currently is on the Board of Directors for Special Care Dentistry Association, in addition to being a Member at Large for the Council of Dentistry for People with Disabilities. She also has hospital privileges at Lehigh Valley Hospital and works with the dental residents at both of their clinical sites.

I can't thank Dr. Holena and Her staff enough for being so kind and caring. Dr. Holena is an amazing dentist and Her staff are all so sweet and helpful. Today My son Luke had to be sedated for dental work. He needed a lot of work done and only 3yrs old. As his mother I was so nervous and upset. He did amazing. His teeth look great and the staff kept in touch throughout his whole procedure so I knew what was going on, which helped keep Me calm. I cant thank them enough. I highly recommend Dr Holena.

My daughter had her second visit of many for the future. Dr Holena and her staff were great with her as were with my son when he was younger. They are very patient and kind. I was happy to find she opened her own practice and took our insurance. My daughter was not afraid like she was with her previous dentist and didnt fight them at all. Dr. Holena explained what treatments she needed and options we had. I also love that I can go back with her to visits.
