My Dentist referred me to Dr McMurtrey because I needed a root canal. My Dentist did not indicate it was severe. Dr McMurtrey has a more sophisticated 3D XRAY. It found my tooth was badly infected with bone loss. Also, it showed the next tooth was less severely infected and needed a root canal. He had time and was able to do both root canals and I was made amazingly comfortable considering. No pain during the procedures which lasted 2.5 hours. He also is an amazing photographer with large prints around the building. I am very impressed with Dr McMurtrey and his assistants.

I highly recommend Dr. Mcmurtrey. I had to have a root canal done and he and his staff made me feel very comfortable and that My needs mattered. I've had a root canal done many years ago and this was the best experience I have ever had. I will definitely be recommending them to family and friends.

The office was friendly and staff was great. Marge really helped calm my nerves and explained all steps. Dr. McMurtrey was kind and worked efficiently. They were like a well oiled machine, and I was completely comfortable during the procedure.

I cracked two teeth earlier this week, and I scheduled a root canal at my dentist office for next week. My symptoms had changed, I started feeling sensitive to cold and was feeling some pain in the tooth that was cracked, so I called my dentist office to ask if the change in symptoms would need to be addressed by an emergency dentist or not. They advised me to go to Dr. McMurtrey's office. Rather than getting evaluated for whether my cracked teeth would require an emergency root canal or not, this office decided on my behalf that I should get an emergency root canal. I tried to explain that to the dentist when he came in, but he told me to close my mouth and just injected my gums with numbing agent without saying more than 2 sentences to me. The dentist did not even examine my teeth or have any conversation about what was about to happen before he just started to numb me. I felt so violated, I tried to explain to the dentist that I was uncomfortable and he immediately left the office and had his medical assistant talk to me instead. The medical assistant told me I would get charged for getting numbed even though I felt too uncomfortable to continue with a root canal. The medical assistant at that point told me that cracked teeth were not an emergency. The whole experience was honestly just horrible. I think it's so unethical that a root canal was forced on me without the dentist even speaking to me about the risks and benefits, or if an emergency root canal was even warranted at that time. I was treated like a dollar sign instead of a human being.
