Dr. Kurt Mackie is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where he was a member of the mens gymnastics team. While competing, he achieved status as an NCAA All American gymnast. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies, Dr. Mackie entered the University Of Nebraska College Of Dentistry. At that time, he was also commissioned with the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) at the rank of Captain.
Upon completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Dr. Mackie was stationed in Harlingen, Texas as the dental director of Su Clinical Familiar. After fulfilling his obligation with USPHS, he began his private practice in Harlingen. After 31 years of private practice, Dr. Mackie and his wife, Jean have decided to relocate to Boerne where he continues to offer exceptional care to his patients, using his skills and expertise to create beautiful, healthy smiles.
Dr. Mackie completed the entire continuum at the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida and has been a teaching assistant at the Institute. Dr. Mackie achieved Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and is a founding member of The Seattle Study Club of the Rio Grande Valley. Mentoring dentists has always been a passion for Dr. Mackie, and he continues to share the vast knowledge he has acquired dealing with advanced implant and complex restorative procedures with them to the betterment of his patients and the dental profession.
