Dr. Kurt Mackie is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where he was a member of the mens gymnastics team. While competing, he achieved status as an NCAA All American gymnast. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies, Dr. Mackie entered the University Of Nebraska College Of Dentistry. At that time, he was also commissioned with the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) at the rank of Captain.
Upon completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Dr. Mackie was stationed in Harlingen, Texas as the dental director of Su Clinical Familiar. After fulfilling his obligation with USPHS, he began his private practice in Harlingen. After 31 years of private practice, Dr. Mackie and his wife, Jean have decided to relocate to Boerne where he continues to offer exceptional care to his patients, using his skills and expertise to create beautiful, healthy smiles.
Dr. Mackie completed the entire continuum at the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida and has been a teaching assistant at the Institute. Dr. Mackie achieved Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and is a founding member of The Seattle Study Club of the Rio Grande Valley. Mentoring dentists has always been a passion for Dr. Mackie, and he continues to share the vast knowledge he has acquired dealing with advanced implant and complex restorative procedures with them to the betterment of his patients and the dental profession.

Our Boerne dental practice uses a soft tissue laser to provide patients with comfortable, efficient treatment for gum disease. Using our laser, we can touch only the tissues that need our help, resulting in a less invasive procedure overall and a shorter recovery afterward. We can also use our laser for cosmetic gum recontouring. During your recontouring procedure, we can remove excess gum tissue to reveal a fuller, shapelier smile.

I can't explain how great Dr. Mackie is. You have to experience it for yourself. I always leave his office in the best mood. His expertise in his work is incredible. People always comment on my teeth, how perfect they are. Dr. Mackie perfected them after I had my braces taken off. I can finally enjoy seeing myself smile, in the mirror. Every employee of Dr. Mackie is always in a great mood and very helpful. I enjoy every visit there.

Excellent dental practice with an experienced dentist and professional staff. Dr. Mackie is also a sleep disorder specialist and has helped me tremendously over the last 2 years. I recommend this practice for both general and specialized dentistry and sleep apnea.

This is the BEST dental office I have been to! Even if you don't reside in Boerne, it's worth the drive! I used to be a patient at a couple of SAT locations a few years back, and although the service was good and professional, Dr. Mackie's office on River Rd., is by far the BEST! You will notice the entire staff is so friendly and they treat you with kindness from the moment you arrive, until you leave. They are sensitive, caring and very professional to their patients. Dr. Mackie uses high tech equipment, which provides excellent workmanship! You definitely walk out of their office with confidence that the work is done right! Dr. Mackie at his team are absolutely amazing ! I came to Dr. Mackie with constant headaches, jaw pain, and lack of sleep from clenching and grinding my teeth. I can't say enough how thankful I am for Dr. Mackie giving me my quality of life back!
