Gum disease can be very destructive in the mouth. If it is allowed to progress, it can even result in the loss of teeth and bone. So it is very important to prevent gum disease or to have it treated as quickly as possible if it has already occurred.

There are surgical procedures that our dentist in Canarsie Family Dentistry can perform if periodontal disease is more advanced. A pocket reduction can be performed when bone and tissue have been destroyed and pockets form.

If periodontal disease has progressed to the point where teeth are lost, there are methods that can be used to restore those lost teeth. Dental implants are effective when a single tooth is gone. The implant will anchor into the gum and replace the missing tooth. Implants are very secure and durable, functioning in the same way that a natural tooth would. If gum disease was severe enough to cause the destruction of several teeth, then a partial fixed bridge will be put in place, attaching to crowns that will be applied to the teeth on either side of where the missing teeth were located.

Our periodontist atCanarsie Family Dentistry has various ways to help you with periodontic treatments. Once your gums have been restored to a healthy condition, continued visits to the dental office will help to stabilize that condition and maintain strong, healthy teeth as well.

The goal of our dentists is to preserve your teeth your whole life. However, there are circumstances when pulling a tooth is the better option. Turn to our tooth removal dentist at Canarsie Family Dentistry for pain-free extractions.

Canarsie Family Dental offers you a positive and comfortable experience with wisdom teeth removal and dental extractions. We provide dental services at our tranquil and relaxing office for residents of Canarsie and all the surrounding areas.

Wisdom Teeth Removal without PainOur general and family dentist wants you to know that tooth extractions do not cause pain when handled in a professional manner. Feel confident that our dentist does everything to make you comfortable, starting with anesthesia. We offer both local and general anesthesia for extractions.

Dental Extractions Only when NecessaryThere are good reasons why it is better for your oral health to remove a tooth. Of course, our preference is to preserve it, but if the condition of the tooth demands extraction, we will do so. The following conditions may warrant removing your tooth:

Common Reasons for Wisdom Tooth RemovalWisdom tooth removal is one of the common reasons our dentist would extract one or more of your teeth. It is often the case that one or more wisdom teeth do not come in completely. In addition, wisdom teeth are frequently impacted and crowded together by other teeth.

It could be that they have come in partway and there is a flap of skin over them, creating painful gums. The teeth could also be infected, or they might be damaged by decay. When there are problems with your wisdom teeth, trust our dentist to determine the problem and take corrective action, which could include extraction. Our office accepts most insurances and offers CareCredit.

Don't go there if you have a dentist anxiety like most people. Workers make fun of you/laugh behind your back if you have bad teeth.

Your services is horrible. Mostly front desk staffs. Only two months ago had root canal and crown and it came out. The waiting area is crowded during this time. Always a long wait. Had 3pm appointment and never get call until close to 5pm.

I had 2 bad experience here. I paid $1500 for a bridge that broke in 3 month. I also had a tooth extraction that the dentist broke off in my mouth then refer me to another dentist. I left there in severe pain and had to wait 3 days to see the other dentist. That dentist is the worst. Just because they dont want to file the paperwork they will also tell you that your insurance dont pay for anything.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE DENTISTS TO ANYONE. Shamtoub is as his name suggests: He's a SHAM! Examine your bills carefully and question everything. I ALMOST LOST $1100.00, my implants that were functioning HE WANTED TO REMOVE TO DETERMINE IF THEY WERE GOOD (there were no evidence to suggests otherwise). They're rude and condescending. DO NOT END UP THERE, FIND SOMEONE ELSE

These people are lazy and rude. They told me taking my Medicare would be "to much work" because they wanna get paid through my medical insurance. I explained I'm medically insured through my moms job and they don't cover dental & that my case worker gave me this number because you guys take straight Medicaid. She decided to be rude and tell me "I don't know if we will get paid if we take your Medicaid" she was yelling and very unprofessional. She's lucky we were on the phone honestly.

This office is the biggest scam! They don't tell you what your insurance covers towards your treatment. Instead they charge you what your insurance covers and doesn't covers. My insurance covered 1,500 of my 3,400 Procedure, but yet I was still charged the whole 3,400. Sad I've been going to this dental place since 2010- who knows what their doing to other patients here! Before doing any procedures call your insurance company find out what they covers vs what they do t cover. Big scam- credit care! Don't sign up make sure you talk with your insurance company 1st!

Very poor service ALWAYS overbooking appointments and staff has no idea of what they are doing. I have waited 3 hours after my appointment time on two different occasions. One occasion I didn't even get service done. Their only concern is to make appointments so they can make money. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE!!!!

The dentist is always great, but the staff at the reception desk (older haitian lady) is awfully rude. Would not recommend anyone to go back there because you would have to see her.
