He is a member of the Lynchburg Dental Society, The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Academy of Oral Systemic Health, and also has received advanced cosmetic training from the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education.
As Office Manager for Dr. Midkiff, I have been a part of our growing practice for 14 years. During that time, it has been a constant learning process for me. Even though I have worked in the dental field for 37 years, beginning as a receptionist, there are always new innovations in dentistry and is a challenge to keep up with everything new. One of the things I love most is the interaction I have with our patients and being able to do whatever is needed, from reception to financial administrator. I love being around people and feeling like I have a purpose to be here every day. I hope to be a part of our office family for a long time.
Originally from Richmond, I married a Lynchburg native and have lived here ever since. I have 2 sons and daughters-in-law and 3 grandchildren. My favorite hobbies are spending time with my children and grandchildren, family vacations, or just relaxing with a good book.
Since I was eight years old, I have wanted to work in a dental office because I wanted to be a part of giving people a smile that they could feel good about. I found an office that was willing to give me a chance where I met Dr. Midkiff. I started as an assistant to the hygiene department while I finished a program for chairside assisting. That's when I started to assist several dentists in the office. When Dr. Midkiff decided to open his own office, I was hired to be his Dental Assistant and my dream came true. I love my job and the care that we offer our patients. To be able to see the fruits of our work in their smiles has been a fulfilling career. Dr. Midkiff is a wonderful dentist and boss! I haver lived in Lynchburg all my life. I have a wonderful husband, daughter and son-in-law.
Danette is a State and National Board Certified Dental Hygienist. She earned her Associates of Applied Science Degree from Virginia Western Community College and graduated with honors in 2001. She also earned a Certificate in Dental Assisting in 1994 from Pikes Peak Community College. Danette is a native of Bedford County and graduated from Liberty High School in 1989. Danette is married to Brian Hurt and has two beautiful children, Regan and Keontae. She lived overseas and in Colorado for eight years. After returning to Virginia, she and her husband decided to start a family. Since 2006, Danette has worked in our practice and loves helping her patients achieve optimal oral health.
Temby Lloyd has been working in our office since 2005 in a variety of roles. She is a dental assistant, works the front desk, and does billing, scheduling and collections. She has been in dental field since 2002. Temby has over 20 years of office experience, attended CVCC where she studied business administrations. She resides in Amherst Country with her husband Joe and son Ryan. Temby enjoys spending time with her family on weekends, riding horses and reading.

I appreciated that Dr. Midkiff is very personable and will spend the time to talk to you and make you feel safe. I have amateur concerns about my teeth and fear of drilling etc. But he talks it through you and explains things even if you ask dumb questions. I really thought he was the best dentist I have had so far.

I have been going to Dr. Midkiff for well over 15 years and have always been very pleased with the level of service that I receive. Dr. Midkiff is skilled, thorough and professional, and Danette who normally does my cleanings is also very efficient, professional and great to work with. I would recommend this office to anyone needing a dentist.

Would not recommend. Scheduled an appointment 2 months in advance for 2pm, showed up early only to have the office remain closed until 5 after. When they opened I was told they were not accepting more than 2 patients at a time. The rude lady chose the 2 people that had showed up right at 2, and told me I'd need to wait in my vehicle until BOTH their appointments were done! Don't schedule 3 people at the SAME TIME if you're unable to see EVERYONE.

The negative review by Allison Meeks is not quite accurate. I had to stop by about an insurance issue that day, and the person taken before her was an elderly lady in a wheelchair, with her companion. Ms. Meeks' reaction wasn't very understanding, to say the least. Also, it didn't bother me that the office opened back up 5 minutes late. What kind of Karen complains about 5 minutes?? My husband & I have been patients of Dr. Midkiff for over 20 years and we've never had a single problem. We've rarely had to wait longer than a couple of minutes, if even that---usually we get taken back on arrival. The office staff is super helpful and always pleasant, Dr. Midkiff is excellent, and Danette is the best hygienist ever. I hate doctors' appointments but my dental appointments are stress-free. Highly recommend.

Our expirience at the Dentist was beyond all expectations. Dr Midkiff cares deeply about his work and is so conscientious about his patients. He carefully corrected poor dental work and literally made my daughters smile look nearly perfect. The staff is prompt, professional, and friendly. Dr. Midkiffs practice is the best around in lynchburg, so look no further. He is a consumate professional and gifted in the area of special dentistry/implants.

I have been going here for quite a few years now and absolutely LOVE IT! I actually look forward to my dentist visits! Such a positive atmosphere and everyone there is so incredibly nice!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist!

Hands down one of the best dentists I have been to. Dr Midkiff will not only Do a great job fixing any problem you may have with your teeth (medical and cosmetic) he makes it seem easy and definitely painless. I have been going to him for about 6 years now and even after moving a few hours away I would not go to anyone else. I have had a few troublesome teeth fixed by him and also done Invisalign, bonding and had my gummy teeth issue that was bothering me for years fixed...I LOVE the results every time...love that I can go to him for anything.

Hands down the best dental experience I have ever had from start to finish. Not only is Dr. Midkiff amazing, but his whole staff went out of there way to make me comfortable and give me the best experience possible. I highly recommend Dr. Midkiff!

Unfortunately i ate too much candy as a kid and a result, i had several cavities. On top of that, my teeth are extremely sensitive and i am terrified of dental work. Enter Dr Midkiff..the guy is amazing and truly did not feel a thing. Not only is all of my pain gone, but i no longer fear going to the dentist. Top notch, highly recommended
