Our friendly staff is committed to clinically superior dental care delivered with integrity and a gentle touch. The majority of our staff has been at Boulder Family Dental Center for over 20 years. With our longevity of experience together, we work as a cohesiveand efficient team.

I grew up in New Jersey and Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. Before starting dental school, I worked for two years as a research assistant in the Department of Biochemistry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. I then attended Marquette University School of Dentistry, receiving my DDS Degree in 1985.My wife, Jan, and I moved to Boulder in 1986.

I very strongly believe in giving back to the community I love. I am an active member of the Boulder Luncheon Optimist Club, Colorado Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, and Boulder Valley Schools Adopt a Smile program. I am also committed to continuing education and keeping up with the latest advancements in dental care. I attend continuing education courses and seminars regularly and am a member of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Spear Study Club and Boulder County Dental Society.

Outside of the office, I enjoy all of the activities Colorado has to offer with my wife and kids, ranging from school sports, to hiking, bicycling, camping, rafting, skiing, and fly fishing. My family and I are also passionate about our 21-foot sailboat on Carter Lake, which we enjoy all summer long and are able to occasionally escape for a sailing vacation on the ocean.

The first and most important step in my treatment plan is to listen. Only after I get to know you both as a patient with a specific medical history and condition, and as a person with unique needs, questions, aspirations, and perhaps fears can I determine how to treat you as an individual with precisely the care you need and the attention you deserve. When it comes to treatment, I am 'clinically conservative.' I want all of my patients to have comfortable, healthy teeth and gums for their entire lives. From my experience, that does not mean lots of treatment for the sake of treatment. I will always strive to find the least invasive solutions possible to address your dental needs. And if you require specialty treatment, I will refer you to a specialist outside my office so that you receive the best possible care for your specific condition. At the end of the day, after I 've seen my last patient, I ask myself: 'Did I do the right thing for each and every patient today?' That is my guiding principle, my compass for the dentistry I practice and the medical professional I strive to be.
