We offer a full range of services that you might otherwise have to be referred to a specialist to receive. Our dental services include preventive care, cosmetic and restorative treatment, oral surgery, dental implants, Invisalign (clear braces) and treatment for Sleep Apnea. We participate with a number of dental insurance plans and we go out of our way to make sure that you understand your financial obligations and options as part of your dental treatment plan.
In addition, the doctors at our Schenectady dental office will be happy to provide you with second opinions. They will conduct an exam, evaluate treatment recommendations, and provide you with their expert opinion. Knowing your options is your right and we are happy to help.
Dr. Ken Schwartz has been practicing dentistry in Schenectady for over thirty years. He did his undergraduate work at Kent State University in Ohio. He later graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. He did his general practice residency at the Highland View Rehabilitation Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Schenectady and buying a dental practice.
An experienced general dentist, Dr. Schwartz has developed a high degree of skill in preventative, restorative, cosmetic and specialty dental care. His patients also admire him for his gentle touch and calm manner.
Dr. Schwartz remains passionate about learning new techniques and regularly participates in extensive continuing education courses that keep him current with the latest developments in the field of dentistry. His recent course study includes implants, sleep apnea and oral appliances and Invisalign (clear braces).
In his spare time Dr. Schwartz enjoys cycling on the bike trail (weather permitting), or on the Peloton bike. He also enjoys gardening, walking his two English Cocker Spaniels and spending time with his wife Cynde and his family.
Dr. Stone is a graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She graduated Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2020. She just completed her residency at Ellis Hospital Dental Health Center. She did her undergraduate studies at the University at Albany-State University Of New York, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Her experience as a general dentist includes restorative dentistry, cosmetic bonding, crown and bridge, simple and surgical extractions, implant restorations, third molar extractions, removable prosthodontics, etc. She strives to provide personalized care to patients of all ages, especially those anxious about seeing the dentist. Dr. Stone stays up to date with advancements in dentistry by attending continuing education courses. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the New York State Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Stone is not only great dentist, she also has a wonderful personality. In her spare time, she enjoys lifting weights in the gym, spending time with her family, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband Barry and her Husky puppy named Sven.
Hygienists: Our two skilled hygienists Yulia (left) and Gail (right) have friendly personalities and a gentle touch. We know this because our patients consistently compliment both of them. Yulia has been on the staff for over ten years. She is also fluent in Russian. Gail worked part-time for us for two years before accepting a fulltime position a few years ago. Gail is fluent in Tagalog (Filipino) and speaks basic Spanish. Both are graduates of the Dental Hygiene Program at Hudson Valley Community College.
Dental Assistants: We are fortunate to have two talented and professional dental assistants on our team. For over 15 years Pat (left) has worked with Dr. Schwartz as his assistant. She is also the purchasing agent for the medical supplies. Alka (right) began her career in elder care and more recently switched over to dental assisting. She joined our team a couple of years ago and she loves working in the dental field. Alka is also fluent in Guyanese.
Cynde Elsemiller Schwartz has served as the practice Operations and Financial Manager for many years.She holds a BA Ed from the University of Florida. She also did graduate work at the University of Florida in Mass Communications in the College of Journalism. With over 20 years of experience working in many areas of the performing art business, Cynde continues to oversee all non-medical areas of the practice.

I LOVE Dr. Schwartz dental practice. The staff is super friendly, caring and gentle. I get a lot of anxiety when going to the dentist because of childhood experiences. As a senior adult now, for the past 6 years, my experiences at Schwartz dentistry have given me confidence and faith that dentistry, which is a necessary part of overall good health, can be completed in a way that lessens my anxiety. They tend to my every needs and desires when it comes to calming me for the procedures, keeping the procedures pain-free and taking time to make sure that I'm comfortable rather than rushing through to get to the next patient. In the future I will be moving out of town but I feel so strongly about this dental practice that I will drive the hour and a half twice a year to get my cleanings!!. I will not give up this practice no matter where I live!

Extremely pleased with the work and care. Dr. Schwartz was my dentist for 10 years and had to change dentistry due to insurance purposes a few years back. Went to get a root canal through the new dentist a few weeks back and upon drilling my tooth came to the conclusion I had an infection, the dentist sent me home in excruciating pain with an appointment two weeks out due to them being closed for vacation the following week with no on-call dentist. After only making it three days I could not deal with the pain and infection spread into my Gland The new dentist had no emergency line and did not get back to me on the voicemails I left, we reached out to Dr. Schwartz on a Saturday and he made time to see me even though I wasn't part of his practice anymore to see if he could do anything to ease the pain. A day later I ended up in the hospital from the infection upon being released I still did not hear back from the new dentist in my wife reached out to Dr. Schwartz he told me to come in immediately without an appointment and took care of the tooth. I would recommend anybody go to Dr. Schwartz for he is polite,compassionate and really cares about his patience. Awesome job really appreciate you Dr. Schwartz

1st time coming with tooth ache told probaly need crown after looking at x-ray. Dr Stone examined new x-ray and cleaned out difficult area and given rinse solution to do twice daily no crown and tooth feels already better 1 day later. Very friendly and efficient all employees. Very glad i went.

I've been going there for years even through the pandemic. My last visit was an anxious one for everyone involved but I think it was handled quite well. Todays visit was overdue, I went for a cleaning and discovered I had a loose filling and the doctor said he can fill it right there since he had a cancellation. He said my teeth are doing amazing with the cancer I went through and was very pleased. Office is super clean and staff couldn't be nicer!! It's a great family dentistry to go too.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's nice to see Dr Schwartz still practicing. Always accommodating and friendly. I had a tooth drilled and after the novacaine shots, I didn't feel a thing. Good team.

The office staff are very nice. My dental hygienist was gentle,haven't had a cleaning since Covid started. I felt fine,no soreness. Dr. Schwartz is very nice. They are a caring office. I would recommend them to anyone.
