Dr. Keith Sonntag is a native of Utah and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. He completed Dental School at the University of Washington in Seattle and attend the University of Oklahoma for a certificate residency in the Advance Education In General Dentistry. In 1995 Dr. Sonntag completed his Masters in Science degree and Certificate as a Specialist in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In North Carolina, Dr. Sonntag completed extensive root end surgical training and finished his research covering the response of teeth to laser cavity preparation.
Dr. Sonntag is a dental specialist in endodontics. This includes root canal therapy, Retreatment of root canals and root end surgery (apicoectomy). In addition Dr. Sonntag treats teeth traumatized with cracks, resorption and teeth that have been knocked out (avulsed) or displaced (luxated).

My wife needed two root canals. I spoke with Tammy and she was able to get her scheduled quickly and was willing to work with our less common insurance. Dr. Sonntag did an amazing job on both procedures. My wife did not experience any discomfort. We would not consider any other endodontist.

Dr Sonntag explained the procedure well, made sure any questions I had were answered and the procedure was done quickly and with minimal discomfort.

They were able to get me in quickly, the appointment was efficient and well done. Dr. Sonntag reviewed my problem, took X-rays to confirm, offered two treatment plans which we discussed, and went with the one I felt more comfortable with. We did the retreat right then and it was quick and painless! Friendly staff, easy to schedule :)

I've had very few root canals in my life but Dr. Sonntag is the best. Second visit, didn't even need numbing and didn't feel a thing. I'm healing perfectly and am so grateful. You guys rock.

I am a pain of a patient due to my very small occlusion that Dr. Sontag must work with, yet every time I've been there, he's made sure to get the job done regardless with speed and efficacy. He does a fast root canal, follows up with you making sure the problem is resolved, and is understanding of people's financial situations (within reason obviously). I wouldn't trust a root canal with anyone else at this point. Both of mine were done fantastically. He's also the only dentist I've had a filling from that got the bite line perfect first try without having to shape and reshape the filling, which is something that is fairly impressive. He's a great Endodontist and a nice person.

My wife recently developed an infection which required an emergency root canal. I called and spoke with Tammy. To my surprise, she was able to fit my wife (a new patient) in the following day. Tammy informed me they accept Care Credit and have an interest free period. Upon arrival, Keith's entire staff was friendly and professional. Keith has a calm and laid back demeanor - real down to earth. The prospect of a root canal is terrifying. That said, my wife was relaxed and had a relatively pain free experience. To our surprise, the cost was fair and reasonable. More importantly, within 24 hours of the procedure my wife had no pain at all and the infection appears to be gone. We highly recommend Keith and his staff. He's our go to endodontist moving forward. Don't hesitate and book your appointment today!

While getting a root canal isn't something most people seek out, Dr. Sonntag was amazing in his professional, his communication, and his personal skills, making my root canal experience very positive.
