I've been going to Dr Horutz for several years, and they have always had - and continue to have - amazing staff and wonder customer service. Please keep in mind that this is a tiny business and Dr Horutz is only one person - the only dentist at this office. There are so few dentists (and doctors) that are taking on new clients, that these businesses must be extraordinarily busy and overworked. They are thoughtful enough to provide 7am appointments (meaning they probably arrive at the office by 6am or earlier to get set up for the day). Every interaction I have ever had with Dr Horutz (and all of the wonderful dental hygienists) has been pleasant, thorough, and honestly, she's just hysterical. I love going there, which I realize is something that's perhaps unusual to say about your dentist appointment! But it's the truth.

Used to be a great experience to get my teeth cleaned here but no more. I moved away for two years and returned last year and noticed that the front desk staff was now rude and inconsiderate. Heard from co-residents the place had gone down but decided to lean on my old experience. Add to boot that Dr. Horutz barely scanned my teeth before leaving and before I had had a full cleaning which I felt was odd, but I let go. Fast forward to today, a followup six month appointment I had rescheduled while on maternity leave, which took forever to get through because anytime you call the office the phone goes straight to voicemail. I called several times this afternoon between 12pm and 2:30pm, trying to find out if it was ok to bring my infant with me, or if I would need to have him watched. I called last at 2:30, thirty minutes before my appointment to ask again and to inform the office that I was driving and would be a few min late. I arrived at 3:12 at the desk for my 3:00 appointment, and was told the dentist had left for the day. There were three women at the desk, yet no one could answer the phone. I remarked I had called several times to alert them I was running late and to ask about the baby, and they replied, " well did you call during our lunch hour, 1-2?" I told them I last called at 2:30 and they stared at me with the stupid face as if they just magically missed my calls. As a healthcare provider myself, the fact that there are three women up there and calls are going to voicemail is ridiculous. And the fact that the dentist has "left for the day," when the last appointment is at 3:00 and there is a supposed ten minute grace period is absurd as well- try again. It's a shame because I thought she was a good dentist, but if all you are worried about is doing a quick job and skirting off before 15 min into the appointment, then you're not the dentist for me, especially when you should know the hectic lifestyles of your colleagues. I'll look for care elsewhere.

I'm 29 years old and have had one long time dentist and a few other dentists I've seen since moving around the country. Dr. Horutz was awesome. They fit me in last minute for a chipped tooth, called at 8:15 AM got me in by 9 but that's not why I'm writing this review. My experience there was by far the most pleasant I've had at a dentist's office. I could be more specific but the point is these guys are great!

Just an honest, caring dentist and her staff. An excellent Portland area dentist, or an excellent dentist regardless of your area. Always straight forward with the drive to get the work done and insure you know your options and what is about to be done. If you need a dentist, be confident in giving Dr. Horutz a try. The new office make over is a treat as well.

Excellent dentist. Cares about patient care and quality work. Have never had to go back to have anything "fixed" or "adjusted". Have required care with other specialists and they all thought very highly of her work. One Dr. mentioned he hadn't seen as good and thorough work in a long time which made the follow-up appointment very smooth. Highly recommend this practice and Dr. Horutz.

The dental care received has been good, but be aware of the $50 fee for appointments not rescheduled within 48 hrs notice! The reminder service is inconsistent and as a consequence my wife and I have both been unable to make appointments that were made over 6 months in advance. If you're trying to juggle family life, this might not be the best option for you.

After spending thousands of dollars on dental work with this company, a measly $100 bill was apparently not received, and subsequently not paid. No phone call or email was ever made notifying me of any past due bill. No way to treat a loyal paying customer. Lady answering the phone was a rude, ignorant and stand offish.
