I am committed to lifelong learning. My education began at Lewis & Clark College, where I earned my bachelors degree in biochemistry. I continued on to Oregon Health &Sciences University, where I graduated first in my class with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. My orthodontic residency and Master of Science in orthodontics were also obtained at OHSU.

Orthodontics, like life, is a learning process, and continuing education is vital to upholding the quality standards of our profession. I am a member of professional associations that offer numerous opportunities for continuing education. I have also served as the Northern Regional Program Chair for the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and selectedspeakers for our regional continuing education meetings.

I pride myself in the quality of care I provide, and that begins with having a great team. I am blessed to have an amazing staffthat shares my passion for patient care. From the front office to the clinic, each person is trained and committed to help in giving our patients the best possible orthodontic experience. I am married to my best friend, Dr. Ryan Hughes, who is a pediatric dentist in the Lake Oswego area. We have two beautiful sons, Hudson and Bennett, who are the loves of our lives. We look forward to raising our boys in such a wonderful community. Ryan and I spend our free time enjoying all the Northwest has to offer, including snowshoeing, skiing, boarding, hiking, biking, and eating amazingfood. We also enjoy competing in running events and triathlons throughout the year, except on Saturdays during college football season!

I am one of the people who will help create your beautiful smile! I work one-on-one with our patients, whether its taking photos and X-rays at the start of treatment or taking braces off at the end. I have had a few different careers in my life and by FAR Orthodontics has been the most exciting, rewarding, and fun career!! I enjoy getting to know the patients and parents and really feel like we are all part of one big family here with Dr. Borgen. I have been in the orthodontic field for over 20 years and absolutely love my job! I have the privilege of providing patients with valuable information about orthodontic treatment and ensuring all their questions are answered. I help coordinate the financial aspect of our patients' treatment and help come up with the right payment plan for each individual's budget. I want to make each persons first visit as easy and informative as possible. What I enjoy most is watching our patients grow, gain confidence, and leave our office with beautiful, new smiles!

When I'm not helping patients in the office I can usually be found working in my yard at home or doing lots of activities and sports with my husband and four young children. Time is precious so I soak it all in while I can.

When Im not at the office I enjoy running, hiking and exploring nature with my friends and family. I really like to trying new foods, cooking is one of my passions and Im constantly looking for new recipes to try out. My husband and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have 2 boys. My oldest is studying at the University of WA and my youngest is in high school at Clackamas High. Its important to me when life gets busy, to remember to take time with the ones you love!
