Dr Perih, a native of Scranton, was an honors graduate with a BS in Biology from the University of Scranton. She then attended Case Western Reserve University where she earned a rare double degree, a Doctorate in Dental Surgery and a Masters of Science in Oral Biology . Dr. Perih focused her research on facial growth. She was the recipient of numerous honors and awards. (see below)
The University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine was her choice for her orthodontic education. This Ivy League institution fostered many of her current areas of expertise. She received a graduate degree in orthodontics and researched the effect of rotations on the periodontal ligament. She also interned at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia in the Orthodontic and Team clinic for Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Deformities.
Dr. Perih has operated a private orthodontic practice since graduating. She has taught on the faculty at Case Western Reserve University in the Dental Schools Basic Science department. Dr. Perih went on to served as a Clinical Director for the department of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently holds a faculty position there as Assistant Clinical Professor. The recipient of a number of academic awards and research grants, Dr. Perih has authored original papers and abstracts for publication.
Dr. Perih is married to Dr. James Stefanelli and is the mother of five children. She resides in the North Pocono area. Her children Michael, Michelle, Julia and Peter have all attended North Pocono Schools. With theloss of their daughter, Simone, to a rare heart tumor, Dr. Perih and her husband are very involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They oversee an endowment for their daughter, which grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses in the Northeastern Pennsylvania area.
Serving on many committees, she is involved with the Pennsylvania Dental Society, the Scranton District Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Cleft Palate and numerous other professional groups and organizations. Dr. Perih looks forward to continuing her hands on involvement in her profession.

Braces, also known as brackets, are the most common appliance orthodontists use to correct tooth problems. New dental technology has resulted in smaller, more comfortable and more efficient metal brackets such as those shown below. Less noticeable tooth-color or clear brackets made of ceramic or plastic are also shown. Your orthodontist will review the different types of available brackets and recommend the most effective and comfortable option for you. Brackets are usually bonded to each tooth with an orthodontic adhesive. Molar brackets are sometimes bonded and sometimes attached to a band which is fitted to the specific anatomy of the tooth. Dr. Perih and her staff are absolutely wonderful! I don't think there is a more knowledgeable orthodontist in the area. All 3 of my girls are patients at Perih Orthodontics. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, always available for questions and respond quickly. I've been going to Dr Perih for the last 5 years. I started my treatment toward the end of 2018. My first initial consultation I knew She was going to be my orthodontist. I went with Invisalign because I was not a fan of braces. Dr Perih and her staffed worked with me and helped me understand the cost and we're always understanding when it was time to setup for payments. When You walk into the office everyone knows you by name. They all make you feel like friends you've known for years. Dr Perih's knowledge and willingness to get you smile that is best for you is why I will always go back to her. I am going to feel super lost because I have I no reason to go there other then tooth paste. If you are looking for a physician who is the best Dr Perih is the office. !!!
