Dr. Hamman is a life-long resident of Libertyville, graduating from Liberty High School in 1977. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned his doctor of dental surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After graduating he completed a residency in hospital dentistry at Michael Reese Hospital and then established his practice in Libertyville.
While in high school, Dr. Hamman enjoyed science classes as well as art classes. He really wanted to find something that could incorporate both of these interests, and that is where dentistry came in. Dentistry also gave him an opportunity to be helpful to others.
Dr. Hamman provides quality dentistry for his patients as he cares for both adults and children in his practice. Providing the most advanced dental care in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere is a top priority of his entire office team. Dr. Hamman believes in preventive and conservative dentistry. He works closely with his patients to create a life-long plan that optimizes the opportunity for them to enjoy having attractive and healthy teeth and gums for their lifetime.
Dr. Hamman is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the Central Lake County Dental Study Club, and the Seattle Study Club. He is constantly involved with continuing education to allow him to make available to patients the most advanced and successful dental procedures.

I went to Dr. Hamman for many years and thought I was getting good dentistry. I tried another dentist after he stopped his dental hygienist from saying something to me about my mouth. The new dentist found gum gaps of 4 and 5 and fillings where the (amalgam) silver fillings (which I was told where replaced with composite) where merely covered with the composite, not replaced. My new dentist has replaced the amalgam, however I now need a crown on one of these teeth as the amalgam degraded the tooth. I would not recommend Dr. Hamman.

I've been going to Dr. Hamman for several years now and he's done excellent work with my teeth. He is very friendly and professional. He has vast experience and expertise. I also like that he keeps up with technological advances and equipment so you know you are getting the best treatment possible. Also a shout out to his support team, from the assistants and hygienist to the front desk - they are all lovely, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Dr. Hamman and team has been my dentist for over 20 years. They are professional, thorough, and have always been nice to deal with. Fees are reasonable compared to chain practices and I wouldn't go anywhere else!
