Our assistants and hygienists have decades of experience, treating all age groups and dental conditions. They work together with Dr. Skladany to provide outstanding oral care.
Dr. Joe, as he is fondly called,established his family cosmetic and restorative dentistry practice in Pinehurst in April 1996. He grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania, and first attended Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre. He graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and the University of Maryland Dental School in 1995. Dr. Skladany had initially discovered Pinehurst in 1982, while working here as a golf professional! He loved the area, and decided to establish his dental practice here in 1996. Dr. Skladany is a member of the Sandhills Dental Study Club, and serves as the treasurer. He is also a member of the CEREC 3-D User Group, Implant Symposium, and the Moore County Chamber of Commerce.
Jeanne joined Dr. Skladanys team in April 2000. She has worked in the dental field since 1980. She first worked with a young dentist from Brooklyn, NY, at his practice in Clearwater, FL. Jeanne studied dental assisting with expanded duties at the University of Florida; she also attended St. Petersburg Junior College for certification in radiography. Jeanne also worked in forensic dentistry for Pinellas County, FL. She then moved to Moore County, and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Morris, Jr. for 14 years prior to joining Dr. Skladanys office.
Jene is a native Minnesotan, and has been a dental hygienist since 2007. She graduated from Rochester Community & Technical College, in Rochester, MN where she worked in hygiene until her move to North Carolina in January of 2013. Jene has been with Dr. Skladanys team since 2016. She enjoys meeting new faces, and educating patients about their oral health and how it can impact your whole-body health. Jene has a very calming demeanor, which really helps ease patients anxieties!
Natalie joined our team in July 2016. She is a native Texan, who graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Bachelors degree in dental hygiene in 2011. She has lived in Pinehurst since the fall of 2015. Natalie is passionate about dental hygiene and strives to give each patient an individualized, excellent experience. She looks forward to seeing your smile!
Stephanie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, and has enjoyed her career in dentistry for over 20 years! She loves helping patients maintain their oral health as part of their whole-body health, and helping those with anxiety to feel comfortable in the dental chair.
Moore county has been her home since 2011, and has lived in Whispering Pines since her husband retired from the Army. She has two sons, both currently at NC State (Go Pack!). In her spare time she loves to go to the mountains, practice photography, and to do jigsaw puzzles.
Lisa joined Dr. Skladanys practice as Office Manager in August 2001. She previously worked as a Registered Nurse at First Health, Pinehurst Medical Clinic, and Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care in her active nursing days. With her prior work experience at Carolina Power & Light customer accounting & servicing, she discovered the perfect work blend at Dr. Skladanys - assisting with patient treatment planning, office accounting, and keeping the overall practice running smoothly.
Heather joined us in 2015 as our Patient Coordinator, and has since taken on the additional role of HIPAA Privacy Official. She also provides exceptional computer, technical, and creative skills. Heather previously worked as a real estate auditor and office coordinator, as well as diverse other positions in customer service. Her favorite part of working here is developing relationships with the patients!
Born in West Texas and raised in Upstate New York, Heather moved to North Carolina in 2009 and is thrilled to call it Home. She enjoys reading, crafts, movies, spoiling her dogs, and will be a licensed foster parent in 2022!
Lily joined Dr. Skladanys practice in July 2020. She received her Dental Assistant I Certification at the Sandhills Dental Career Center, and is a wonderful assistant both with front office operations and in the operatories. She first received her certification in Cosmetology in 2015, and then expanded her education towards the medical field. She worked as a patient representative with both Pinehurst Surgical Clinic and Wilmington Health before receiving her CNA in 2019, from College of the Albemarle.
