My family moved to the Rutherford County area in 1987 when I was a young child, and I have always known the Western North Carolina mountains and foot hills as my home. I truly cherish this area and the wonderful people I have come to know and love.
My father was a non-denominational pastor and also worked in the textile industry, so I grew up in a Christian home with high moral values and a strong work ethic. From a young child, I had a desire to help people, and I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. However, it wasnt until I was in college that I decided to pursue dentistry. This decision was influenced by several people, but the most important of these was my wife, Nicole. We were only dating at the time I was a junior at Wofford College and needed to start working on applications to my next school, but I knew that our relationship was special and would result in something more. She told me that she was pursuing a career in dental hygiene, and I knew from then on what field of healthcare I wanted to pursue. I am so glad I made this decision, and I love having the opportunity to work with my beautiful wife every day!
I worked in construction and cabinetry all throughout my undergraduate studies, and I was honored to be accepted into Wofford College in Spartanburg,SC. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, and then applied to the dental program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC, I was honored to become a Board of Governors Scholar; this is a full scholarship program for NC residents who demonstrate high academic achievement in undergraduate studies as well as financial need. I maintained my scholarship for all four years of dental school by excelling in both didactic and clinical areas.
During my last year of dental school, I received the best graduation gift of all, a baby girl. Avery Shae was born into our family in April of my senior year at UNC, and I graduated in Maywhat a time that was! Almost 4 years later, we were blessed with a son, Conner Owen. Many of our patients have come to know the children as they frequently come to the office with us; so you may see them running the halls or playing in their little playroom across from Mommy's office if you come visit us. As far as hobbies or life outside of the office, right now it's all about the children. I serve at our church in any capacity I am able, and I am blessed with many friends and extended family who live close by.
Nicole is our office manager and can perform any job in the office since she is trained as a dental hygienist, a chairside assistant, and a front desk secretary. Nicole graduated from AB Tech with a Certificate in Dental Assisting with Highest Honors, and with her Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene with High Honors. She received the Golden Scaler Award for academic and clinical excellence. She really enjoys working with the other staff and the patients, as well as her husband, Dr. Lowry. Nicole is a very sweet and outgoing person and brings a very well-rounded level of experience to our office. Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, especially her children, Avery and Conner.
Christa is our chairside dental assistant and she works with Dr. Lowry to provide you with the best possible dental care when you come in for treatment. Christa is a certified dental assistant, CDA, and she graduated from AB Techs Dental Assisting Program. Christa enjoys crocheting, monogramming, and other sewing crafts in her personal time.
Emma works as our front desk secretary, and she has been part of this practice for 11 years. Emma loves working with the public. She is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys helping her husband on the farm taking care of the horses, the cats, and the Lab.
Kay is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at AB Tech and she works as our primary dental hygienist. She was part of this practice for 28 years with the previous doctor in this location, and we are so honored she has continued to serve the communtiy through Dr Lowry's dental practice. She performs excellent dental cleanings. Kay loves her older horses and spoiling her beautiful grandchildren.
Danielle was awarded her degree in Dental Hygiene from CPCC in Charlotte, NC. With prior experience in pediatric dentistry, Daniele is a wonderful addition to our mission of family dentistry.As a mother of one child and wife to a local business owner, she has a really busy life outside of dentistry as well!

Dr. Jonathan and staff are top notch! They have been giving excellent, caring service since we moved to Hendersonville 3 years ago. When our elderly mom who was suffering from dementia visited, she was given kind and compassionate care. Danielle, the hygienist, was exceptional. Once, when my husband who was blind could not come because his transportation cancelled, the staff came and picked him up at our house!!

I had to have my teeth cleaned, a filling, and a crown replaced. I have never had such a painless experience at a dentist in my life! The staff is sweet kind and compassionate but more than that they are expert at what they do. And I highly recommend Dr. Lowry and his staff for anyone that has to have dental work done.

I am an Army Reservist sent here by LHI for a routine dental visit and I was very impressed. This place has the nicest waiting room ever seen in a dentists office! The ambiance here makes you feel at home immediately. Dr Lowry and his staff were amazingly friendly, fast (but attentive) and caring. Hendersonville you definitely have a gem.

I am absolutely terrified of going to the dentist, I've had some really bad experiences so when I say this is the best I really mean it. The staff is always really nice and willing to help however they can. Dr Lowry is very friendly and gentle. They have been the best about fitting me in with little notice. If your looking for a dentist you can trust look no further!

I was visiting Hendersonville on vacation and one of the fillings in my molar broke and I needed immediate assistance. I called seven different offices looking for urgent assistance and Dr. Jonathan L. was the only one that took me in. I'm intensively thankful for that, not only he and his team made an amazing job but they had a very kind attitude, they made me feel everything was going to be all right. Thank you very very much!!!

I had a tooth crack and hadn't been to a dentist in years and needed some major work done on my teeth. Doctor Lowry's office scheduled me right away and they gave absolutely the best medical service! Dr Jonathan was very professional, carring, gentle and compassionate and his entire staff was very friendly and professional as well...If you are looking for a dentist I would highly recommend you go to Dr Jonathan Lowry,. You will be glad you did!

My daughter had a dental emergency and Dr. Lowry agreed to see her right away. She is from out of town with her regular dentist being over 1000 miles away. She had fallen on a slippery rock and landed on her mouth. They took such good care of her. They went above and beyond. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did. They saved her smile. :)

Dr. Lowry is a great dentist with a great staff! He took out my wisdom teeth and did a wonderful job. Very professional and always listens. Definitely recommend them!!

I have referred dozens of people to Dr. Lowry. A fine professional, he has made the mistake of instructing his receptionist/bill-collector to oppress the poor with higher downpayments and monthly installment requirements than that of major hospitals. I understand overhead, but oppressing those financially strapped is neither biblical or moral. 4 star service with 1 star greed.

Definitely recommend them! I have received both preventive dental care along with extensive dental work such as the removal of my wisdom teeth and the treatment of cavities and enamel issues. Both the doctor and the staff have an exceptional quality of taking the time to listen, guide, and treat their patients according to their individual needs. Each time I have visited,they have performed the treatments in the most professional and friendly manner!

I feel compelled to respond to the negative reviews here. First, let me say that up until a few years ago I was absolutely terrified to go to a dentist. I'm not sure of the phobia but I am sure there is one. When Dr. Lowry took over for my former dentist and re-established the business, he was very friendly. So was the staff. It is at heart a family business. I have never had any issues with rudeness or unfriendly staff. Over the past two years my teeth have had their issues, and Dr. Lowry has always took time to talk about the best course of action. Even when things didn't go as hoped, he would try something different, often at little or no expense. Dr. Lowry is also the best shot man I've ever seen. I rarely feel anything when getting numbed up with a needle. To summarize, I feel totally welcome with his staff, have been taken care of extremely well, and would highly recommend his services to everyone. Tracey Cox

Dr. Lowry has been an excellent dentist for me and my family. He has performed fillings, crowns, sealants, and clear tray aligners on me and my family. All of his work has been superb quality. My son loves to go see him. He has compassionate staff that will help you through the most difficult procedures. I highly recommend him!
