Dr. Sand is a native of Bertrand, NE and studied at Chadron State College for his undergrad in human biology and then went on to dental school at UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln, graduating in 2010.
Low stress dentistry is a staple in Dr. Sands philosophy and he is skilled at making his patients feel at ease. He follows a conservative approach to dentistry, keeping the patients wants and needs at the forefront of treatment planning. Dr. Sand enjoys family-focused dentistry and loves to see kids and start their dental experience on the right path so they can avoid dental anxiety in the future.
Dr. Sand is an active member of the Nebraska Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He attends continuing education on a variety of topics, primarily focusing on endodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr. Sand and his wife Mandy have three little girls; Addy, Elle and Tilden. Aside from dentistry and farming, Dr. Sand spends the rest of his time with his girls working on 4H projects, woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Dr. Nelsen was born and raised in central Nebraska and graduated from Cozad High School in 1999. He graduated from Hastings College, Hastings Nebraska with a BA degree in biology in 2003. Dr. Nelsen graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical College of Dentistry in 2007 and joined the Holdrege Family Dental team. Currently, Dr. Nelsen serves in the Army National Guard. He loves spending time with his children: Makenzie, Micah, and Gracyn.
Trudi grew up in Holdrege, NE enjoying her first job at the Sweden Creme. After attending UNL and obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, she began a 30 year career in banking which eventually brought her back to Holdrege. Trudi and her husband, Steve, enjoy spending time with their two kids and four grandchildren. Trudi has worked at Holdrege Family Dental since 2009 taking care of patient scheduling and billing. In her free time, Trudi enjoys scrapbooking with friends
