At our dental office, we have two skilled dentists, Ronald A. Moreno, DDS and John Young, DDS. They partner with an experienced local anesthesiologist, Dr. Peter Pfeiffer, to offer advanced dental sedation options to keep patients comfortable. Our dedicated dentists are supported by a team of professionals who truly care about our patients. Together, we work hard to deliver exceptional dental treatment for patients of all ages at every visit.
Our dental office is conveniently located in the Barkley Village area of Bellingham. Our centralized location makes it easy for you to reach us from work or home. Dr. Moreno has been practicing dentistry in Bellingham since October 1995. A graduate of Georgetown University's dental school, Dr. Moreno spent five years in the Army Dental Corp before entering private practice. He has the heart of a perfectionist and attention to detail is a dominant personality trait.
Dr. Moreno is a member of the Mount Baker District Dental Society, and he has been a member of the American Dental Association since 1986. Dr. Moreno and his wife Kathy have three grown sons. Dr. Moreno enjoys his spare time umpiring at little league baseball games and officiating local high school basketball.
Originally from Issaquah, WA, Dr. Young first joined the team at Moreno & Young Dental back in 2009. One of the reasons he loved dentistry was that it gave him the opportunity to both work with his hands and his mind to create beautiful, long-lasting smiles that patients can enjoy.
After high school, Dr. Young went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University. There, he graduated with a degree in Microbiology. He would eventually go on to live and work for a year in England as a technician in a dental lab. His wife Misha was pursuing post-graduate studies at the time.
After leaving England, he enrolled at the University of Washington to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He would complete a one-year residency in General Hospital Dentistry at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, OH.
To this day, he is a member of the Washington State Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, where he is currently pursuing fellowship status from. Hes also part of the local R.L. Bruna Dental Study Club.
When hes not providing dental care to patients, youll find Dr. Young spending time with his lovely wife and their two beautiful sons. He loves staying physically active and carries a passion for adventure, which is why he enjoys spending time in the great outdoors (including overnight!) He also loves golfing, running, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and coaching his sons soccer teams.

Dr. Young is a great dentist, very caring, and his staff is great. My family, including Grandchildren, see Dr. Young as well. My Grandchildren actually like going to see him. I think that's wonderful as so many kids and adults are afraid of going to the dentist.

I cannot express fully the gratitude I have for Dr Young and his team. I am so incredibly pleased with the work Dr Young has done on my teeth. I will say that if you are not sseing a Dentist, my suggestion is to see Dr Young. You will be so very happy with the results. I could just go on and on and on...you will NOT EVER be disappointed. I had previously went to another dentist in town, but after needing to get my wisdom teeth out, I switched over to Dr. Young. I have a medical condition that disallows me to use certain medications, even numbing agents at the dentist. My old dentist wanted to refer me to an oral surgeon, but I didn't want to be out for the extraction. After discussing my situation with Dr. Young, he did some research and was able to confirm that I could use a quick acting numbing agent for my extraction, without being put under. I've now been going here for over 2 years and every time I am there everyone is super nice and you feel like longtime friends.

I like the soft- spoken Dr. Young. At first I wasn't sure who he was due to the mask and I had not seen him before; only Dr. Moreno. I thought everyone was very friendly and kind. My hygienist was mostly very gentle to the touch and not too shaming when she found TWO cavities!! She also gave good recommendations for what to do if I felt the deep, aching in my teeth. Lots of good information here. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

As an aging individual, I am having multiple problems with my teeth. Unfortunately, I have not been given proper care by my previous dentists here in Bellingham. After having read through the many glowing reviews from their website, I decided to consult Dr. Moreno. It was a positive first visit. Dr. Moreno was patient, courteous and took the time to explain the work that is needed for my teeth. The dental assistant, Olivia, was cheerful and friendly. Also, the ladies at the front desk, Tammy in particular, was helpful and pleasant. All in all, I am happy with my first experience with Dr. Moreno and his team. Hopefully, I have finally found a dentist whom I can trust with care of my teeth.

Dr Young is so kind and gentle. I also believe he is a consummate professional who holds himself to very high standards of dental care. I would highly recommend him. Yesterday I had a three hour double crown procedure in the very back of my small mouth. I thought I might be in bed for the weekend in pain and exhaustion from the ordeal. The procedure was difficult for both of us but I had very little discomfort and no pain. When the numbing wore off I had a little jaw soreness and no swelling at all. I'm amazed and grateful.

I have extreme dental anxiety and I have had horrible past experiences with other dentists. A friend referred Dr. Young and I'm SO incredibly happy I went and saw them. I left feeling so much better. They are gentle, kind and very caring. They make you feel so comfortable and really take your feelings into account while being professional and prompt all at the same time. I cannot recommend them enough!

I love my dentist office! Dr. young is so patient and caring. Even when he is busy, he takes the time to listen and do an amazing job. Beth is so great, she's always there to explain things in a way that's easy to understand. Every DA I've seen are wonderful. The front desk are kind and welcoming and the billing department is great to work with too. Thank you all for making it easy to go to the dentist!

My husband and I recently relocated to Bellingham and were referred to Dr. Young by two of his peers in Seattle. We are so happy to have found him. We cannot say enough positive things about this office and about wonderful Dr. Young. The entire practice is state of the art and the staff members professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Young is patient and thorough, asks great questions and offers great advice. My husband was referred to a great endodontist for something that had been unresolved for several years and has now been taken care of. And I saw Dr. Young to help me sort out unexplained facial and dental pain. He ruled out a dental problem, but was so kind and understanding when I was trying to figure out where to turn. He also personally called to give me test results and also check how I was doing. Again, we greatly appreciate everyone here and highly recommend Dr. Young and this practice.
