My name is Dr. William T. Ko. I'm from Columbus, Ohio, originally. I've been in Arizona for 16 years. Initially, I had my education through a six-year BSME program. I went to college at the University of Akron, completed my college education in two years, and went on to the Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine, where I completed my MD degree. I fell in love with dermatology, as a specialty. I love the skin. It was an organ that had a myriad of features, and I fell in love with the people and the pathology involved with it. I love skin care. It enables us to take care of the very young infants all the way to the very elderly. I wanted to make sure that I received the best training possible. I went to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, one of the most renowned hospitals and institutions in the world, where I completed my four years of dermatology training. The Cleveland Clinic really caught my attention because it's always been rated among the top five hospitals or institutions basically in the entire world. The Cleveland Clinic provides us with a top notch education, exposing us to the greatest amount of pathology, quite frankly, that you really won't see in a very small institution or center. We train with the best of the best. The professors, the doctors that take care of some of the rarest skin conditions in the world are our teachers. We get exposed to the rarest skin conditions. It's a wonderful blessing, particularly in clinical practice today, where we have the ability to take care of those rare diseases, and we very seldom refer out to specialty centers, because of our expertise. After my residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, I started to look at various portions of the country to apply my skills in dermatology. Arizona Dermatology really stuck out because of their family atmosphere. I really fell in love with the people involved with the practice, and I decided that this is the type of place that I want to work in. I want to work in an environment not only where I can apply my expertise, but where the environment is of a family nature, where we're a team, and not as individuals.

My name is John Ebner. I'm one of the dermatologists here at Arizona Dermatology. I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, and at the age of 15 left there to come to the states to continue my education. Eventually, after high school I settled in Tucson, went to the University of Arizona. I majored in Nutrition and Chemistry. After that I decided to go to graduate school and got a master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. And after that came back to Arizona to go to medical school at Midwestern University.

What I loved about being at the clinic was that exposure, as well as when I was there getting to work in the lab and understanding some of the mechanisms involved in the development of skin cancer, specifically basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma, was really a highlight. It really sort of sparked my interest in terms of how I became interested in understanding skin cancer and how to treat it.

I came to Arizona Dermatology first as a medical student. It was a place where I just wanted to go and get some experience in dermatology, and when I came here I instantly found that this place was a warm and caring environment and a really nice family environment. Everybody was welcoming and warm. And it was one of those places that I was only there for a month as a medical student, but that month was really a month that really changed my course.

I had not really looked at dermatology up until that point, and when I came here and worked with the doctors that were here, Dr. Superfon and Dr. Ko, it was really one of those changes for me that it said, 'Gosh, this is one of the most amazing specialties. And I 'm definitely going to go into dermatology.'

That was really the reason I started out. Now after I was finished with my residency I was obviously inclined to come back here, but I wanted that I had checked out all the other options. So I did lots of interviewing at different practices around Arizona, specifically Phoenix and Tucson. Because of the way that this practice is positioned we have people that have worked here for over ten years and 15 years or 20 years. And not just a couple, two or three these are five, ten, 15 people that have been here for this long. It's so nice to have this kind of longevity and really it speaks to the way that we treat our employees. We hire people and they stay because it's a great place to work and I knew that was going to be the case for me. And so for me it was an easy decision to come and work here.

And so because it's such a warm, friendly, family environment, we're able to keep our staff here for many, many years. Now what's important for patients is that when they come here they see that. They see that we have friendly, kind, welcoming staff. When they come back into the back of the office to see the provider, the people that they talk to and interact with are kind and thoughtful and pleasant, and just happy.

My name is Dr. Edward Galiczynski. I'm a board certified dermatologist at Arizona Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery. I grew up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. I went to undergraduate ... I got my undergraduate education at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. I subsequently went to medical school at Lake Eerie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Eerie, Pennsylvania, and then did my residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. During my time at the Cleveland Clinic, I was able to see a wide variety of dermatological conditions. It was a tertiary care center, so we got to see a lot of rare skin disorders, anywhere ranging from the most severe psoriasis to bullous disorders such as bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus vulgaris, and the like. Whenever I was looking at practices during my final year of residency, I wanted to join a practice where I could utilize pretty much all the skills I learned while at the Cleveland Clinic, because it's almost pointless to learn all this stuff and focus on one area. So I wanted to do general dermatology. I wanted to do some surgery. I wanted to do some cosmetics, and Arizona Dermatology offers that.
