I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and spent summers at my familys business, Jacob Lake Inn, on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I attended the University of Utah earnings Bachelors in English and a Master of Public Health. I graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2007 and returned to the Salt Lake Valley to start a practice. After years of private practice I expanded to include the University of Utah School of Dentistry where I teach as an Adjunct Instructor. It is a great opportunity to share dental knowledge and to keep up on the latest techniques and future of dentistry.
I love the long term relationships we form in general dentistry. I still see people I treated on my first day of practice. I have made a study of patient comfort and ease. We constantly improve our techniques to improve the patient experience. Digital radiography, same day crowns and laser dentistry to eliminate injections and the need for numbing anasthesia.
Even if you brush and floss every night, you are still prone to gum disease. The mouth is a perfect environment for bacteria and germs. Semi-annual cleaning and checkups are vital for keeping these issues at bay.
With proper root planning and care, you will prevent later issues with decay caused by underlying plaque and tartar. We use special-designed hygiene instruments to clean your teeth, and with each visit, your dental hygiene will significantly improve--with proper home habits.

Great as always! I have been going to Dr. Rich's office for the last 14 years I think. I never has any issues! Both Glenda and Dr. Rich are amazing and they do such an excellent job! I recommended them to friends and family and everyone goes there now!

I have disliked the dentist Sense I was a young child even in to adulthood. This has been a Huge change sense my wife has put me in touch with her long time dentist Dr. John P. Rich DDS. He has been great. I used to gag having X-rays and having any work done in my mouth. He used a different technique that had never been used on me before it made it so nice to have the X-rays done with out gagging me. So amazing. Then he fixed a couple cavities with out numbing my whole mouth again amazing. I highly recommend going to Dr. John Rich for any kind of dental work!

Dr. Rich is very personable and kind. My daughter lost her tooth in his dental office and his staff handled it on a great way. They even have her a pink box for the tooth. I recommend taking your children and yourself to Dr. Rich.

Our family loves dr.john p. Rich DDS office. Every time we have visited we are always takin care of from the front dest to the dentist chair.i went in today to get a check up and they noticed a chipped tooth.so thy filled the it really quick.and I was on my way. And looking forward to my next visit in a couple weeks. 5 star all the way.

Amazing! I have been going to Dr.Rich for 15 years. Dr. Rich/ his staff are wonderful! Unfortunately, over the years have had several emergency's and they always find a way to get me right in! I live in Tooele and even with the high gas prices i won't go anywhere else! Definitely recommend him!
