Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Patients with dental implants can smile with confidence.

The implants themselves are small threaded titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts that protrude through the gums are then attached to the implant. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your dentist is forming new replacement teeth.

After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. Dr. Fox will uncover the implants and attach small posts that protrude through the gums and will act as anchors for the artificial teeth. When the artificial teeth are placed, these posts will not be seen. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients experience minimal disruption in their daily life.

Using the most recent advances in dental implant technology and in select cases, Dr. Fox is able to place single stage implants. These implants do not require a second procedure to uncover them, but do require a minimum of six weeks of healing time before artificial teeth are placed. There are even situations where the implants can be placed at the same time as a tooth extraction further minimizing the number of surgical procedures.

Implant restorations are a team effort between an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a restorative dentist. While Dr. Fox performs the actual implant surgery, initial tooth extractions, and bone grafting if necessary, the restorative dentist (your dentist) fits and makes the permanent prosthesis. Your dentist will also make any temporary prosthesis needed during the implant process.

A single tooth (crown) is used to replace one missing tooth each crown attaches to its own implant. A fixed bridge can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete fixed bridge replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of restoration is recommended. A removable prosthesis (denture) can attach to a bar or ball in socket attachments for retention. A fixed prosthesis is permanently retained and can only be removed by your dentist.

Once you learn about dental implants, you finally realize there is a way to improve your life. When you lose several teeth whether its a new situation or something you have lived with for years chances are you have never become fully accustomed to losing such a vital part of yourself.

There are several reasons: Why sacrifice the structure of surrounding good teeth to bridge a space? In addition, removing a denture or a partial at night may be inconvenient, not to mention that dentures that slip can be uncomfortable and rather embarrassing.

If you are considering implants, your mouth must be examined thoroughly and your medical and dental history reviewed. If you mouth is not presently ideal for implants, there are ways of improving outcomes such as bone or soft tissue grafting. Dr. Fox is able to evaluate your needs and provide a plan for implant treatment.

The front office manager is the most rude, uncaring, incompetent person I've ever professional dealt with. After one year of them getting approval from my insurance company for my procedure I had a surgery date from them and they even confirmed the day before. Well, one hour before my scheduled surgery time, the office called to cancel my procedure due to insurance denial. I had already bought dentures to be put in after my surgery during the time that they made my appointment and the scheduled surgery day. I cleared my calendar for the scheduled day and three days after for healing time so to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I contacted my insurance company and come to find out all they needed for approval was a referral. Why Dr Fox's staff could not tell me that I don't know. Now I have my referral, still have the dentures that I'm making payments on but now I'm blacklisted because I wanted to speak to Dr. Fox regarding the professionalism of his front office staff which I was hung up on and never allowed to do.

It takes a lot for me to write reviews but I had to write one for Dr. Fox , I was terrified about getting my wisdom teeth out and Dr. Fox explained everything very well and calmed all my nerves on the day he looked at them, when I went back to get them removed and he was very caring, kind, and very very good at what he does. Zero issues and I just went back today for the post surgery check up and he really cares about what he does. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!!!

I've been to three oral surgeons in my life. The 1st I was put under because it was impacted tooth. The 2nd was for two extractions. I developed a dry socket on one molar, and it had to be disinfected. I was given NO anesthetic and was in so much pain I was fighting tears as much as I could, but I will never go back there. The 3rd was Dr. Fox. He was the friendliest O.S. I have ever been to. He knew I was scared and gave me time to calm down, which other Dr.s have not. It was the best experience with any Dentist/O.S. I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend him. I had no negative experience with any of the staff, but even if one was rude I would still go back just to have Dr. Fox take care of me.

I'm a big baby when it comes to the dentist/dental surgery. Dr. Fox reassured me he'd take care of me and then numbed a very sensitive area expertly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Dr. Fox and his staff are OUTSTANDING!! He and his staff are so kind and understanding!! They are also extremely professional! I had a tooth that broke off in the back, I went for 2 months in excruciating pain. Dr. Fox removed my wisdom teeth when I was much younger, after visiting several other dentist in my area, I remembered Dr.Fox! He saw me and I drove 1 & 1/2 hours for this appointment. They were kind, and the extraction was completed and I have been in little to no pain. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment to anyone who needs any type of oral surgery!! AMAZING! AMAZING!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Fox, two of which were impacted. Dr. Fox did a wonderful job explaining the procedure and alleviating my fears, and charged a reasonable price. I am currently writing this several hours after the procedure and I have very little pain and swelling relative to others experience with this. I would recommend Dr. Fox to anybody in need of oral surgery.
