Dr. John P. Melinski has over 20 years of experience as a Pediatric Dentist, working with infants and children of all ages. He also cares for several special needs patients of all ages. He strongly believes in maintaining a practice that is personal, caring and dedicated to providing the best possible care for every individual patient.
As a specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr. John knows how to prevent disease. His goal is to provide his patients with continual prevention maintenance, which is key to maintaining a beautiful, healthy smile that will last a lifetime. Children today can grow up without getting cavities!
Sharon has worked for Dr. Melinski since 2005. She began as a dental assistant and then started to attend Stony Brook University to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. She graduated from Stony Brook in 2011, having obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with Health and Wellness as a minor.
Having completed her undergraduate work at Stony Brook University, Sharon then attended SUNY Farmingdale, from which she graduated in 2014, becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. Dr. Melinski then took Sharon on as a dental hygienist, where she continues to faithfully serve as an effective part of the dental team.

Even though this dentist is really far from my house, this is the only dentist my kids will ever go to.

DO NOT GO HERE: MONEY HUNGRY SCAMMERS!! I'm giving one star because he was professional and patient; however, even though my insurance covers all dental cost, they still demanded close to $1000 just for 4 cavity fillings and the anethesia. Meanwhile I went to another doctor and got the same thing done without any insurance coverage for only $450. They are money hungry and do not care that these are children and that teeth impact the brain. I will never be going back there and specifically tell people not to as they are only interested in gaining money. I work in medical billing and what they are doing is overcharging and even demanding payment prior to the actual procedure which is illegal in the state of NY. I work with providers daily and have NEVER once seen this happen. simply baffling!!

This is my daughters second time at this office and each time we have been very pleased. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are definitely doing their part social distancing. The office is very clean. The appointments are on time. One family in the office at a time. If you get there early you wait in your car and they'll call you once the prior patient has left. I couldn't be happier. I am very happy I found Dr Melinski. My daughter really likes him. He's very gentle and caring with her. This is the only doctor she doesn't complain about. I highly recommend.

Going to Dr Melinski is always a wonderful experience!!! I can't say enough amazing things about him and his team. I have had some bad experiences in the past with my oldest child in other offices (too bad I didn't know of this doctor then, she probably wouldn't be so terrified of dentists). Glad I chose Dr. Melinski for my youngest. He is amazing with children. He makes them feel so comfortable while checking their teeth. I recommend him to everyone with children.
