Dr. Ciaverelli is a licensed general dentist whos been helping patients in the South Austin area for almost two decades. After associating at Brodie Oaks Dental for 10 years, he assumed ownership in 2012. His goal is for patients to enjoy being in his office and to offer them an educational, transparent, and gentle experience.
Beyond just helping his patients relax, Dr. Ciaverelli is committed to working with his patients as partners. He focuses on offering preventive dental care and keeping his patients healthy. When patients need more than a routine cleaning, he wants to be sure they understand his recommendations and can make informed decisions about their dental care.
He and his team offer a range of general dentistry services, including preventive care and comprehensive exams; cosmetic, prosthetic, restorative, periodontal work as well as implants, Invisalign placement and oral surgery.
Dr. Ciaverelli is a member of the local affiliate of the Seattle Study Club, a national organization providing in-depth continuing education for its members, earning more than twice the required educational hours annually. Originally from Houston, Dr. Ciaverelli graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors degree in Physics. He completed dental school in 2000 at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, and was one of four picked for a General Practice Residency at University of Louisville Hospital.
When not at work, Dr. Ciaverelli spends plenty of time at home with his wonderful wife and two kids. He enjoys photography, music, running, biking, and early morning swims in Barton Springs.And whenever possible, he also loves volunteering his skills to the Louisville Zoo in Kentucky, where his father-in-law has been the dentist on call for the last 40 years.
Dr. John Farnie, a native Texan, joined Brodie Oaks Dental when he separated from the U.S. Air Force at then Bergstrom Air Force Base. His dental degree was earned at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston.
Dr. Farnie went on to become a specialist in Prosthodontics, receiving his training under the auspices of the Air Force, and was assigned to Lowry AFB, CO, where he directed, advised and provided quality control to the fabrication of dental prostheses for patients in twelve northwest and central United States. He also was associate clinical professor at the University of Colorado Dental School.
As a prosthodontist, Dr. Farnies passion and focus is the rehabilitation of patients with severe bite problems. To accomplish this he employs the use of fillings, crowns, implants, and in some cases, full and partial dentures. Each patient has his or her own needs. Dr. Farnie teams with his patients, informing them of the risks and benefits of their treatment options to determine the unique treatment that is best for them.
Dr. Farnie happily resides in Austin with his wife and daughter.His hobbies include travelling, sailing, cooking, and etymology. He is also an avid learner. While not keeping up with the latest trends and techniques in his field of training, he is taking classes on campus at The University of Texas.
