Dr. John Martin received his training in Orthodontics from Georgetown University in 1974 and has been in private practice since 1980. After teaching he went into private practice, treating several celebrities which included a U.S. Presidents family. He is a member of the Pankey Institute, which is for the advancement of dental science for the profession. Consumer Report has given Dr. Martin a Top Orthodontist award among Americas Top Dentists. He has been on 22 mission trips, 21 of those were to Africa and once in Panama for surgical procedures as needed in the jungles of Africa.
Dr. Martins main goal is to treat every child/adult as he would his own. Orthodontic treatment offers the opportunity to achieve your best look. It produces a smile that allows you to go into every situation putting your Best Face Forward with Confidence. Thats why we say that Smiles are our Business.
He also takes pride in not charging his patients a down payment and offering low affordable monthly payments. There are no finance or interest charges added to his cases and we are more than glad to file your insurance as courtesy.
Dr. Martin served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War as a spy for ASA (NASA). He resides in Atlanta with his wife, Diane. He is the father of a son, Jim, who lives in California, and his late daughter, Linda.
Judy is Financial Coordinator/Office Manager of the Augusta location and has been with Dr. Martins team since January 2018. Judy has 35 years of experience in Office Management and Finance. She is the mother of four children (one a patient of Dr. Martins in 1996) and eight grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening, traveling, singing and spending time with family.
Teri is the Conyers Office Manager and has been a part of Dr. Martins team since 2006. What she enjoys most about working with Dr. Martin is seeing the beautiful results and very happy patients upon completion of their treatment. Teri enjoys going to the beach each summer and spending time with her family. She also enjoys working in her yard when the weather is nice and relaxing while hanging out with her husband and two beagle boxers.
Sheila is our Regional Treatment Coordinator and has worked with Dr. Martin for 21 years; she started working in orthodontics while living in Germany. She shares Dr. Martins vision of building confidence/self-esteem, producing award winning smiles and providing treatment that is affordable to every patient he treats. Sheila brings a jovial personality, warm smile and incredible knowledge of orthodontics to Dr. Martins practice. Her education includes: certified in office assisting, certified in dental/orthodontic assisting, and certified in x-rays. She is the mother of three sons and the grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. Her hobbies include: reading, working out, playing softball and score keeping in basketball, softball and flag football.
I love this place. Very friendly staff that is honest and funny. I know going in to get my braces tightened that at least one good thing shines that day. I have already recommended Dr. John Martins practice to anyone who would listen to me. Thank you Dr. Martin and Staff. It will be a sad but happy day when my braces come off.

Worst experience. The "dental assistants" were very unprofessional. There were too many side conversations and not enough focus. The other assistants and patients were hanging out in the same room I was getting seen. I never met Dr. Martin and I went in for a consultation, how is that even acceptable? The nurse consulted with me and had no idea what she was talking about. The dentist should have definitely been present. She was very nosey and wanted me to go into depths about the medication I'm taking, asking questions like why are you taking those? What is it supposed to do? And other questions that were irrelevant to my appointment. She then asked me "What you wanna do with this tooth? Because it looks decayed". If I wanted to make those kind of decisions I would've asked them to pass me the brackets and wires for me to do the braces myself! It took them an hour to finish my x-rays and photos. Just to tell me I wasn't able to get braces because I have an implant on my top row. For the record, you can get braces with implants it doesn't matter. They offered me bottom row braces I said no thank you and left. I was so displeased I would never go back and I recommend anyone reading this to please try a different orthodontics, this place is a complete joke! You will surely waste your time.

From my personal experience I love everyone in this office! They are very professional and so nice. As for the KAREN'S who choose to post otherwise and give bad reviews, maybe you should pump the breaks and check yourself and what you say or do that would cause you to feel this way because they are the best! Most polite group of people and go out of their way for their patients. If you act like a "Karen" you deserve what you get from anyone! Thanks Dr Martin and all the ladies in the office you guys ROCK

Called to get information regarding transferring my son to this location and the staff, Jessica was so rude. When someone is speaking, it is common courtesy, business etiquette, and a representation of manners to allow them to finish what they are saying. Jessica was very condescending. It was evident that she did not come to work today. The front desk is the very first impression of any business. I will not be transferring care to this practice.

Just had my braces removed after close to 4 years and this journey not only with the braces but the people working with me to help fix my teeth were the best!!! I would recommend them to anyone who needs braces. The ladies there were always full of joy and really caring of their patients!!! & great payment system if you would like to pay monthly. Beyond 5 stars for me!!!!!

My first and second visit was great. The staff were very nice and accommodated my autistic son. Which was great and I thank them for that. They explained and went over my dental plan with me. So far my experience has been great!

Really loved every appointment with this office. Every person is so lively and they make their jobs fun while also making sure you're good and your treatment is going the way it should. I couldn't have asked for a better staff to get me through these past 2.5 years.

This is definitely one of the places to go in Augusta. I was a patient, my little sisters were patients and even both of my ex girlfriends were patients. They laugh with, and definitely get the job done the right way. They are Good people, especially destini, Stephanie, Jess, Karen linnette, and Sheila. Great orthodontist! 10/10 recommend

Judy the office manager is the nasty and rude. I have never dealt with anyone who constantly has an attitude. Dr. Martin doesn't even work on his patients and I'm sure he doesn't even know what goes on in his own office. The most he does is look at X-rays and determine how long braces are needed for and even his option is questionable. If you need braces PLEASE chose elsewhere! Dr. Martin's office has the worst orthodontist reviews in the CSRA. I wish I would have listened to every else that told me to go some other than this horrible place!

I drive a hour go get here on time to be told that they're at lunch and you can't come in when our appointment time is at 2! A time that you know you have clients coming. Why not say select a time so people won't show up and have to wait outside. Ill be so glad when I'm done with them! Plus, don't go with them...every other month they'll say you're behind and the confirmation number you get from making your payment doesn't mean anything! Don't go here!!!!!

After reading not so nice reviews... I didn't let that discourage me from calling and getting the rates and services I want and need and to find out they are running a special right now for braces is great. The receptionist on the phone sounds nice and gentle. She answered all my questions and didn't mind repeating so I could take notes. I'm excited about my free consultation on tomorrow!! I will be back to update you guys on my visit.

Awful costumer service. When I brought an issue to their attention, they made me wait over half an hour to talk to this women judy who had a bad attitude and blamed other staff for the misinformation but yet not giving me a solution. I just lost hope when I got to speak to the doctor. I found out he is a very old man who not only has no clue of whats going on outside his room office but also looked confused and did not make sense of what he was talking about. Without any logical explanation they offered a 35 dollar discount from my next payment. This place is unveliebably unprofessional and Dr Martin seriously needs to retire.
