Orthodontics is about more than just teeth; its about people and what is on the inside as well as their outer appearance. While creating a beautiful smile and a great bite is certainly important, I want to give my patients a great experience, a goal to work for and attain, and a confidence that theyve made a great decision to have orthodontic treatment.
My professional goal is to provide my patients with outstanding treatment results and an exceptional experience within a relaxed and caring environment. I tailor each treatment plan to fit each individual patients needs and desires. I want my patients to not only have a smile on their face the day they get their braces off, but to have a smile on their face every time they leave our office along the way.
When I was a teenager, I had orthodontic treatment and saw what a huge impact it made on my self-confidence. Now, as an orthodontist, I have the ability to help others in the same way that my orthodontist helped me. It is very satisfying for me to see a beautiful smile and know that my patient has a great bite that can last a lifetime.
Born in Southern California, I have lived in the Bay Area since 1980 and South Bay in particular since 1990. My husband, Marty, and I have two daughters and two Australian Shepherds. Our girls keep us pretty busy with sports and other activities, but when I get the chance I enjoy running, cooking for family and friends, watching the Food Network, participating in church and volunteer activities, relaxing at the beach with my family, and taking long walks with a good friend.
I am passionate about people, whether they are my friends, family, patients, or community members. I have had the privilege of volunteering with Medical Teams International and with our local church to provide meals and services to those in need. As a long time child sponsor through World Vision, I consider it a privilege and a responsibility to care for those who need our help.
An RDA for over 10 years, Vanessa is a caring and fun member of our team. Vanessa brings her skills to both the front office and chairside. When not at work, Vanessa enjoys being a busy mom of three daughters.
Sandra has been enjoying the dental profession since 1991 and brings her experience and warmth to our office. A mom to two teenagers, she understands the joys and challenges that each age brings and shares that wisdom as she cares for our patients.

I've been a patient with Dr. Joanne Low since before I was around 8 and I am 18 now. Throughout my 10 years with Dr. Low, I've seen how compassionate, dedicated, and caring she is towards her patients. I have a lot of gratitude toward Dr. Low and I thank her for all the hard work she's done. She is not only a great orthodontist but also a great individual and always makes me feel welcome. I was referred to Dr. Low by my oral surgeon for a consultation and I feel compelled to leave a review after speaking with Dr. Low, who is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and honest. She is the rare kind of medical professional that genuinely cares about the patient's well-being over profits. She actually told me that due to the asymmetry of my chin, orthodontic treatment without surgery is likely to make things worse for me. I am grateful for her honesty and expert opinion. She is truly a knowledgeable and skilled orthodontist with integrity. Highly recommended!

So many orthodontist in the area that you can choose from. They all straighten teeth whats the big deal who you choose, choose the cheapest.... WRONG! Dr Low is truly the best Orthodontist hands down. The smile she creates WOW! She is caring, detailed in her work and in her treat plan. She will take the time to explain every detail with you and answer questions you have. Most offices are so fast paced you don't get that one on one attention. You feel like a number and not a patient. Thank you Dr Low and her Amazing staff Sandra, Regina and Susan the insurance lady for all your hard work!

The dental office opened this week from COVID-19. Went in for my crown work . They took my temperature, provide cleaner to clean my hands, and a questionnaire about COVID-19 contacts. Staff there all have face masks, plus face screen. Front desk also added plastic dividers. I feel perfectly safe. As usual, Dr Martin Hikido did a good job preparing for my crown. The staff assistant Lisa also did her best making me comfortable. My whole family has been going to this office for over 30 years. Great services were provided.

Our family has been with Dr. Low and Dr. Hikido for about 25 years. I have referred many to both of their practices. Apart from Dr. Low being brilliant and efficient, she is relatable to all age groups, humble, has a heart of gold and has good ole fashioned common sense. Both kids and myself have been fitted for braces by her; now the kids as adults are still seeing her in follow up. Dr. Marty Hikido (dentistry) is also incredibly kind and is very seasoned. His anesthesia technique is superior. He usually goes on at least one mission trip a year to perform dentistry for free in a 3rd world nation- quietly and humbly. The staff for both doctors are incredibly astute. Susan has been with Dr. Hikido for as long as I can remember. She keeps the office running smoothly, and teaches the others that come on board. She's an amazingly helpful and efficient person. Dr Low's staff remembers patients by name, and are skilled with orthodontic technique. Didn't realize this review was so long. Bottom line- incredible orthodontist and dentistry team. You will feel cared for, and your teeth will look - and be - amazing!

Dr Low took care of the orthodontics needs for my two kids. She and her staff were excellent. They explained all the options upfront, provided expert advice, and managed the whole process. These days orthodontics treatments are a lot more elaborate and drawn out. Dr Low makes it as smooth as it can be.
