Dr. Jeff Olson follows his father, grandfather and great-grandfather by receiving his D.D.S degree and practicing in South Dakota. He attended the University of Minnesota for undergraduate and was awarded his D.D.S. degree from Creighton in Omaha, Nebraska in 1988. He has lived in Rapid City his whole life and has dedicated a large portion of his time to giving back to the community.
Dr. Jeff has been married to his wife, Lanette, for 25 years. He has two children, Avery and Jack. Avery is started medical school in Summer 2017and Jack graduated with a Biology degree from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Jeff and his daughter, Avery, work together on a project they founded, Care for Zumbo, in Mozambique, Africa. They provide secluded villages with dental and health care and travel to Mozambique to work with the mobile clinic when at all possible.
Dr. Jeff is a member of the Donated Dental Program and also treats others that are under served in the community through the Title 19 program. Additionally, hehas spenttime on the Care Mobile Dental Bus caring for low income children and volunteers at the St. Francis Mission on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. Dr. Jeff is a retired Game, Fish and Parks Commissioner and a past president of Rushmore Rotary Club, Black Hills Sportsmen's Club and the Black Hills Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Safari Club International. Dr. Jeff co-founded and continues to chair the South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger Program which donatesthousands of meals annually to needy families across the state. He is active at the Outdoor Campus where he teaches people of all ages about the outdoors and shares his passion for hunting, fishing and wild game cooking.
Dr. JeffhassupportedCornerstone Rescue Mission and Youth and Family Services, Pony League baseball, Rushmore Hockey, The South Dakota Wildlife Federation, The Crisis Intervention Center in Sturgis, Rapid City School Foundation, and Wellfully. Dr. Jeff received the Humanitarian of the year award from the South Dakota Dental Association in 2013, the Hero of Conservation Award from Field and Stream in 2006 and the Wildlife Conservationist of the year award from the South Dakota Wildlife Federation in 2002.
He is a life member of Black Hills Fly Fishers, Black Hills Sportsmen Club, Safari Club International, Back Country Hunters & Anglers, Federation of North american Wild Sheep, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Midwest and Wyoming Chapters of the Wild Sheep Foundation
ShannonI am originally from Winona, MN,. I mostly grew up on a little horse ranch in Piedmont, SD, graduating from Sturgis Brown High School. In 2005 I graduated from Western Dakota Tech with a certification in expanded functions, dental assisting and radiology. I have worked with Family Dental Care since April of 2003. I enjoy the dental field, helping patients feel comfortable and making them smile. I love spending time with my husband Tom and my sons Gage & Vander, watching movies, reading, remodeling and just being together as a family.
CieraI am from Rapid City. I graduated from Central High School in 2014. In Spring 2017, I graduated from Western Dakota Tech with a certification in dental assisting. I enjoy the dental field as it gives me the opportunity to give patients attentive and quality care. In most of my spare time you can find me playing and spending every minute possible with my daughter, Raelynn.
BreannaIam originally from Rapid City and graduated from Stevens High School in 2014. I graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. I am excited to come back to my hometown and be a part of Family Dental Care! As a dental hygienist I enjoy helping my patients lead happy and healthy lives starting with their oral health. In my spare time you can find me enjoying the outdoors through hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and spending time with my dog and fianc.
EmilyIwas born in Aberdeen SD, but I spent most of my life growing up in Rapid City. I received a bachelors degree in Dental hygiene from the University of South Dakota. During my time there I was involved with the Student American Dental Hygienist Association, and in my final year I served as secretary. I enjoy helping patients maintain and improve their oral health, which ultimately improves their overall health. I have a passion for dental hygiene,and I hope to be able to share that with the patients we serve. In my free time I like to go hiking and fishing with friends and family in the Black Hills.
BrettonI am originally from Rapid City & graduated from Central High School in 2012. I graduated from Dakota State University in 2016 with my bachelors degree in Biology, where I was a pitcher & 2nd baseman on the School's softball team on scholarship for 2 years. I now coach my younger sisters U-12 softball team during the summer & I am Central High School's pitching coach in the fall. I am the oldest of seven kids, so my life is the very opposite of boring, I love it!! When I am not coaching or running to every sporting event of my siblings, I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, & spending time with my family,husband & our three crazy dogs.
