Dr. Felzer has been practicing in Wilmington since 2009. He obtained his dental degree from Temple University in 2004, and later completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. This was followed by a residency in periodontology at the joint program between the New York VA Medical Center and New York University in 2008, his last year being designated as Chief Resident of the Department. He was previously clinical assistant faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and is currently on staff atChristiana/Wilmington Hospital.

Dr. Felzer is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, sits on the Council on Education for the Delaware State Dental Society, is a member of the Northeast Society of Periodontists, and the AO.

4)Slight bleeding is normal for several hours following surgery. If persistent bleeding occurs place a wet teabag on the involved area and apply direct pressure for 15-20 continuous minutes. Repeat as necessary.

11)After the periodontal treatment, proper oral hygiene must be maintained in the surgical area to aid in healing. After one week, carefully brush the teeth while avoiding the gums in the area of surgery. The gums and lower parts of the teeth should be cleaned with a dampened piece of cotton. Gentle flossing can be resumed in 2-3 weeks. Regular brushing can be resumed after 3 weeks.

13)If a periodontal pack has been placed in your mouth, do not remove it. The pack should remain in place for one week. If the pack comes off before this time, it is not an emergency, but the doctor should be notified.
