Dr. Jeffrey Crandall

Dr. Crandall completed his dental training at Temple University School of Dentistry and the General Practice Dental Residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. In 1984 Dr. Crandall received a Certificate for completion of the extended program in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Crandall has maintained a referral-based practice limited to TMD and Orofacial Pain since 1984. He is a member of the Attending Staff in Surgery and a preceptor for the General Practice Dental Residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain (OFP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) and the International College of Dentists. He was President of the American Orofacial Pain Academy in 2010-2011 and served as acting president for the AAOP in 2011-2012. Dr. Crandall served on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Orofacial Pain as well as the Board of Directors of the American Board of Dental Specialties from 2014 to 2020.

He has presented many programs on a local and national level and has served as a planner for several national courses presented by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. In the 1990s Dr. Crandall served a major role in the legislative process that resulted in a revision of the Vermont law which governs medical insurance companies located within the state. This law states that these insurance companies must provide benefits for patients who experience OFP and TMD and allow dentists such as Dr. Crandall to bill for these services.

Dr. Kuchukulla holds an undergraduate degree in biology from India, a Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery from NTR University of Health Sciences, India, and a Masters Degree in Dental Science earned from the Department of Oral Biology and Center for Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, the State University of New Jersey. While at Rutgers University she served as chief resident as well as post-graduate editor-in-chief for Rutgers Journal of Dentistry and graduated at the top of her class both clinically and didactically.

In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Kuchukulla has a background in neuroscience and pain research. She worked as a pain researcher at the Department of Neurosurgery, Robertwood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. Her research interests include neurogenesis in neuropathic pain disorders. Dr. Kuchukulla has authored scientific papers and a book chapter which are published in major journals.

Dr. Kuchukullas clinical skills in diagnosis and management of orofacial pain earned her the designation of Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial pain. She now serves as a member of the examination writing committee and is an associate editor for the American Board of Orofacial Pain.

Dr. Kuchukulla is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain and is an editorial reviewer for scientific peer-reviewed journals in dentistry (i.e., Journal of the American Dental Association) and orofacial pain.
