Dr. Shook has been providing quality dental care since 2001. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001. He completed additional training at The Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies in Occlusion and also attended The Nash Institute for Dental Learning and Misch Resnik Implant Institute, as well as continued education at the Scottsdale Institute and Spear Dental Education Center. Community is an important aspect of Dr. Shooks life. In addition to providing free dental care for the needy and providing services for local college students, he serves on the Clay County Board of Education and is active in his church. Together with his wife, Laurie and their three children, they enjoy camping, hiking, running, playing and attending sports and biking.

Laurie is our Office Manager, and a Registered Dental Hygienist. She received her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1998 and has been a member of our team since we opened the doors in 2002. Laurie also received her training in the Periodontal Plus Program through Mercer Mastery in 2007. She is married to Dr. Shook and they have 3 children who keep them very busy with Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball and Track and Field. She is also a very active member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys running, coaching at Clay County schools, camping and spending time with her family.

Amanda is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has worked in our office since 2002. She received her education at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in 2002 and is currently also our HIPPA Compliance and Radiation Protection Officer. Amanda received her training in the Periodontal Plus Program through Mercer Mastery in 2007. She is married with 2 children who are very active in basketball and softball. Amanda is also a very active member of her church, loves to spend time with her family and friends, hiking and riding in her Jeep.

Susan has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 25 years and has been a member of our team since 2005. She received her education at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in 1996 and is currently also our OSHA Coordinator. Susan received her training in the Periodontal Plus Program through Mercer Mastery in 2007. She is married and has 3 children and 1 grandchild. Susan enjoys camping and spending time with her family.

Robin is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been a part-time member of our team since 2012. She received her education at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in 1998. Robin is married and has two children. As a family, they attend church, love to travel and go snow skiing.

Deanna is a Certified Dental Assistant II and has worked in our office since 2003. She received her training at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in 1999 and is currently a member of the Dental Assisting National Board. Deanna is trained in CAD/CAM one visit restorations and is also our clinical supply coordinator. She is married with two children and one grandchild. When she is not at work, she enjoys Jeep riding, being active in her church and most of all spending time with her family.

Maria has worked in dentistry since 1997 and has been a member of our team since 2004. She is our scheduling and treatment care coordinator. Maria is married with one daughter, two step daughters, two grandsons and two dogs (that are just like members of her family). In her spare time, Maria loves to travel in her motor home Big Bertha.

Moriah is a Certified Dental Assistant II and has worked in our office since 2013. She received her training at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in 2003 and is currently a member of the Dental Assisting National Board. Moriah spent the first 10 years following her graduation from AB-Tech in an orthodontic office before bringing that experience and knowledge to our team in 2013. She enjoys running, training at the gym, crafting, volunteering at church and spending time with family and friends.
