Dry Needling uses a thin filament, non-hypodermic needle similar to ones used in acupuncture. Unlike acupunctures superficial techniques, Dry Needling targets specific trigger points deep within muscle tissue, and the location of that trigger point will determine the length of the needle used. Research has shown that the mechanical stimulus of the needled itself on the trigger point will cause biochemical changes resulting in muscle relaxation, improved muscle function and pain relief.
