Dr. Janet Visanescu (she is Dr. V to her patients) has practiced in Oldham County for over 25 years. Originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, she graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, then worked as an Intensive Care and Recovery nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center and Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She subsequently attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she received her doctorate.
Dr. Visanescu is a member of the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and Louisville Dental Society. She and her husband make their home in Oldham County. She has a daughter, Katherine and two pre-school age granddaughters.

I had the good fortune to work as a registered nurse before I dreamed of becoming a dentist. That experience taught me whole-body medicine as well as the value of gentle care in difficult, life-threatening cases. I am aware that you may feel uneasy about going to the dentist. I do all I can to make our office environment and dental care as gentle and comfortable as possible.
Each member of your family deserves a great start in life with good dental health. We're ready to help, from teaching your child to care for his first teeth, to giving adolescents and adults the special care they need to correct damage caused by accidents, disease, and decay.
We know that your appearance affects the way you feel about yourself. If there is something about your smile that you would like to improve, we can show you the available options, from teeth whitening to porcelain crowns and veneers.
We try to take care of problems before they become difficult and expensive. That prevents most emergencies from happening. However, should there be an emergency, our patients know they can reach me after hours.
For your convenience we accept major insurance plans, and we file your insurance for you. Our staff will be happy to review your coverage with you and help you get the maximum reimbursement. If you need treatment, we work with you to optimize your insurance coverage by scheduling dental work before your annual benefits expire.
Our patients told us they feel uncomfortable in closed-in spaces - so we made sure all our treatment rooms had windows. Our treatment rooms are furnished with massage chairs and can be made fully private whenever desired.

Dr. Janet and Jan are a God send!! I needed dentures and they came through so completely that I have my original smile back!! I ate a salad for the first time in years!!! I had all but given up by the time I found them. AMAZING PLACE AND AMAZING LADIES!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Dr. Visanescu is a remarkable dentist that truly cares about her patients and their oral health. Every visit I truly feel welcomed by both Dr. V. and her staff and appreciate Dr. V's calm and reassuring demeanor and her ability to explain what is being done and why. I feel very confident in Dr. V.'s skills and very happy that she is my dentist. I would also definitely recommend Dr. V. for anybody looking for a dentist with no hesitation at all.

Thought my husband needed his dentures relined because he had a sore on his lower gum. They didn't need relined, just a spot that needed taken off. I'm sure another dentist wouldn't have done that simple of a thing. And she is very reasonable! And his gum healed!

I've always hated going to the dentist. When I left Dr. V's office I actually said I enjoyed my visit. She makes you feel as if you are her only patient. We need more dentists and doctors like Dr. V

My wife and I moved down from Chicago. From the very first time we walked into Dr. Visanescu's office we knew we found the right dentist. She has always gone the extra mile without asking, even accomodating our needs on Saturday with an emergency.
