Dr James J. Woodruff, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School, has provided advanced comprehensive dental treatment for more than 30 years.He isconsistently awarded one of Americas Best Dentists by the National Consumer Advisory Board, has exceeded 1000 hours in advanced continuous training with top specialists in the field, and has performed over 30,000 dental surgeries.
Dr. Woodruff loves spending time with his family and his first granddaughter, Angelina. He is an avid sports fan and plays basketball, tennis, and lifts weights. He believes that a healthy diet, exercise, and oral healthcare dramatically impact overall health and longevity.
Dr. Woodruff received his DMD, Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, a leader in biomedical and oral healthcare research. After completing dental school, he pursued special training in implant surgery using the latest digital techniques.
In his free time, Dr. Woodruff enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring the city, and traveling. He is a health and fitness enthusiast and spends much of his time at the gym and jogging along Lake Michigan.
Sue began working for Northbrook Dental Group as a part time assistant in 1997, changing to full time in 2007. She enjoys working in the clinical side of the practice and learning the newest technology In her spare time she likes to pursue creative interests and is an award winning photographer.
Sandy has been a hygienist in the North Shore since 1980 and has been working in Northbrook since 1995. She truly enjoys taking care of her patients and has enjoyed getting to know them. She currently lives in Glenview and has two grown children; a daughter in New York and a son in Oregon.
Renee has over 14 years of dental experience. As a clinical assistant Renee is always learning something new. Her time in the field has been spent in pediatric, orthodontic , and general dentistry. She strives to make every patient comfortable and enjoys seeing all the amazing outcomes that we are a part of every day in our office.
Michelle graduated from William Rainey Harper College in 2009 with a degree in Applied Science focused in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys learning and attending continuing education courses on various topics in the dental community.
'As a registered dental hygienist, my goal is to provide the best possible patient care while also providing patients with the information on how to best maintain their oral health at home. I enjoy learning about each and every person I meet and strive to make their dental experience in our office a positive one.'
Justyna grew up in Poland. She then moved to the U.S.A with her family at the age of sixteen. She received a Dental Hygiene Degree from Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois in 2002. Two years after graduating, she moved to New York City where she worked in private dental practice. She also received a Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration. After graduation, she worked in New York City College of Technology as a Clinical Instructor in Hygiene School. Justyna then moved back to Chicago, she began working atour office. Justyna enjoys educating patients about the importance of proper oral hygiene. She treats every patient as if her own family member. She is detailed oriented and strongly believes in the quality of work that she provides, as well as making patients happy about the care they receive. In her free time she enjoys being with her two beautiful daughters and wonderful husband Ed. She loves the outdoors, skiing, hiking, and traveling to new places.
Gina has been in the Dental Field for over 20 years. Gina came to Northbrook Dental Group in 2017. She has experience in both Dental Assisting and Dental Administrative duties. Gina is always available for questions or concerns patients may have. Gina enjoys traveling, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her 2 boys and husband.
Erin started working as a dental assistant through her high school work program class in 1998 and has been in the dental field ever since. She came to Northbrook Dental Group in 2010 as a full-time assistant and now works part-time in office administrative duties. Erin enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 2 daughters.
Donna has been an employee of the practice since October, 1988. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Loyola University Chicago - GO RAMBLERS!Donna and her late husband have 2 sons and 3 granddaughters. She volunteers at St. Norbert Parish in Northbrook working with special needs teenagers. She is a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the George W. Benjamin American Legion Post.Her vacation time is spent visiting her granddaughters In Nashville.I love working with our team and the patients in our practice.

Dr. James Woodruff went out of his way to help me with a major dental emergency. The cosmetic and dental work needed (there has been a lot) has gone far beyond my expectation. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Dr. James Woodruff and Dr. Justin Woodruff are incredible. Being new to the area, choosing a dentist with such an easy, professional demeanor was everything I wanted. Dr. James Woodruff did my first root canal. The way he talked me through the procedure and answered my questions was above and beyond. Didn't feel a thing and it was painless. They both have extensive knowledge and I trust them with all my dental needs!

Best dental practice! Was able to get in quickly for a broken tooth. Everything was explained well and no pain during or after the appointment for a crown. Dr James Woodruff is personable, professional and I was totally at ease. Office staff is friendly and professional too.

I have seen Donna the dental hygienist for several years. She is great and a big reason I visit this practice. I met Dr Woodruff for the first time and it was a pleasant experience. His personality fit this practice perfectly and I was very pleased with my first experience. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone young or old.

Dr. Fernitz and his staff have always been and continue to be very diligent with cleanliness and safety with the health of their patients in mind. The staff is friendly as well as professional. They take the time to explain what they are doing, what is needed and offer instruction for improvement in oral care. We have made the 42 mile round trip drive for care here for 35+ years because they are so outstanding.

Just had my usual thorough cleaning and exam today. The office has been very helpful in finding an appt to fit into my ever-changing schedule. Was able to discuss the completion of a treatment plan and coordination of insurance over the next year. My father was a dentist. so I'm very picky about my dental care. The level of professionalism and expertise Dr. Fernitz offers definitely measure up.
