Dr. James Slaman developed an early interest in dentistry while growing up in Albuquerque. Today, he's one of the most experienced and educated dentists in our community, having practiced here for over 25 years. He's continually studying the latest dental technology advances. Dr. James Slaman is an Albuquerque native. After receiving his doctorate in dental surgery from the University ofMissouri, he returned to Albuquerque and began private practice in 1992. Postgraduate continuing education is the foundation of Dr. Slaman's 23-year career. He has been privileged to train with the top dentists from around the country. Dr Slaman provides routine dental care, cosmetic dentistry, and has extensive training treating worn teeth, bite and TMJ disorders. Currently Dr. Slaman is sharing his knowledge as a mentor at Spear Education in Scottsdale. In Albuquerque, Dr. Slaman is recognized by his peers as the best dentist in Albuquerque. He is a three-time recipient of Albuquerque The Magazine top cosmetic dentist award. Dr. Slaman shares his skills through community outreach.He also participates in the Donated Dental Dental Program, New Mexico Mission of Mercy, and dental missions in Guatemala.
Outside the office, family is Dr Slaman's top priority.He and his wife enjoy spending time with family and friends. During the summer they enjoy boating and camping. In the near future they look forward to teaching their daughter to snow ski.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Slaman and his staff. However, I did not get to see Dr. Slaman; I'll be able to do this next week. Today Erica cleaned my teeth thoroughly; she also gave me some good advice about tooth care. I know that my teeth are very worn down; however, if someone chewed on YOU for 80 years, you'd be worn down, too. I appreciated how warm and helpful everyone in the office was; they treated me very kindly. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the office staff.

I've been a patient of Dr. James Slaman for the past 25+ years, he has done all the dental work and repairs on my teeth, cavities, chips, overlays, crowns, etc. He literally saved my teeth from disease and falling out. Other dentists, endodontists, and surgeons who have examined my teeth, always asked me, who did the work on your teeth. I always ask them, why do you want to know, and they always comment, because they have never seen such high quality dental work, and that, who ever did your dental work is not only an outstanding dentist, but a master artist! Upon hearing that, I always smile with great pride, when I tell them Dr. James Slaman! This only corroborates the well known fact that there is no better dentist in Albuquerque, NM, than Dr. James Slaman.

I've been a patient of Dr. Slaman for about 20 years. He saved my teeth and my smile. I won't go into details but it suffices to say myself, my wife and family appreciate all his great work and expertise. I'm really happy that I heard the radio ad when I first moved here from Santa Fe and followed up on it. His staff are always professional, helpful and upbeat. Each visit has gone smoothly with great results. I highly recommend Dr. Slaman and staff, and do so every chance I get.

OCT 2022: Dr Slaman installed my dental implant today! Another excellent visit. His attention to detail is next to no one! I am a nervous dental patient as a general rule, but Dr Slaman takes great care to ensure I'm doing well! That's why I've been his patient all these years! APR 2016:Another great visit. Dr slaman corrected some dental work today. April 2016. He and his staff patiently explained and guided me through the procedure and made sure I was comfortable, had lip balm, etc. I was in and out in less than an hour. Mar 2015: I've been going to Dr Slaman for over 10 years. I am an inherently nervous dentist patient as my dentist from childhood was an army dentist who was rough and stingy with Novocain. Dr Slaman and his staff have been great in helping me get past my nerves and helping me to get my needed procedures as painlessly as can be done. He will commonly explain that "you may feel something cold" or something similar and off we go, a short while later I am getting my procedure taken care of and before I know it he says "you're done!", Dr Slaman has been great. He has talked me through my dental plan, explained what needed to be done, and has a great manner when getting me numb and explaining where we are in the process. Dr Slaman got me caught up on my procedures after my years of neglect caused by my fear of dentists. I highly recommend him!
