Dental care for children is an important part of their total health program. We believe that caring for your child's teeth should not become a financial burden for you. In the event that full payment is not possible at the time services are rendered, we have some payment methods that may assist you. We also accept most insurance carriers. A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. Standard metal braces are actually made of very sophisticated metals and their technology has advanced significantly over the past twenty years. We recommend traditional braces to all our patients while allowing you to choose the option thats right for you.
Dr. James Proctor received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then earned a dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School at San Antonio. Following dental school, Dr. Proctor completed his residency at Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans, specializing in Pediatric Dentistry.
In 1994, Dr. Proctor opened his first dental office in Conyers for children and teens, just south of Honey Creek Road on Georgia Highway 20. In 2000, he moved into his current location north of Honey Creek Road on Honey Creek Parkway, which connects Honey Creek Road to Georgia Highway 20.
Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on our doctors knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.
Your initial exam will last approximately 1 hour. Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

Choosing a dentist for a child is very important, after careful research and I choose Dr. James P. The first contact via telephone to schedule her appointment was easy, smooth and friendly. There were friendly reminders prior to her appointment via email and text. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a smile and all staff was nice. Ms. Michelle was warm, sweet and friendly making my little one at ease for her first dentist appointment. We meet Dr. James who was also very professional and friendly and explained everything we needed to know. This is a prefect example of quality leadership with a vision and a staff who reflects and provides outstanding service. My daughter received high quality services with kindness and she walked out with a big smile, a dental gift bag, and a happy heart. We are so glad we chose Dr. James Proctor and his team, we highly recommend them.

So happy we found Dr. Proctor and his team!!! They quickly got us in for a second opinion visit and saved our 3 year old from unnecessarily cavity fillings another practice was suggesting. We will be continuing our little ones pediatric dental care here!

Please take your kids elsewhere. They need to learn how to treat kids with a more gentle touch. Slow and steady and being calm is how you need to handle kids. When a parent says stop you need to stop. Your front office staff need to learn to not be so judgemental and harsh as well. Not every child is the same and a person's parenting practices are nothing to scoff at!

My 2 boys have been going to Dr. Proctor's office since they were 4 years old. He is very detailed, knowledgeable and patient with kids. His staff is very personable and makes everyone feel very comfortable. By far, the most pleasant experience we have had!!

Dentist Proctor and his assistant showed their expertise when they pulled 2 teeth. My child was scared but Dr. Proctor made the process easy, painless and quick. I'm a fan! The office also does a great job with scheduling appointments. There hasn't ever been a long wait between our arrival time and when they start the service.

Front staff is very nice, dental assistant did her best to make my 2 year old comfortable and distract him which I really appreciate, and Dr. Proctor is gentle and patient. Overall a great experience today. Thanks for what y'all do!

Two stars because the assistants and front desk staff are sweet and take time to talk to the kids and let them know everything they are going to do. However if your child is not an easy dental patient this is not the place for you. The dentist doesn't have patience for kids with dental anxiety.

My daughter and I met Dr. Proctor for the first time today. She's only a year old so she only got her teeth looked at. Dr. Proctor was very kind and professional; let me know all I needed to know about my daughter's current state of her teeth and what I need to do from now till her first real appointment when she turns 3. Great tips. Although a short visit, I enjoyed meeting and speaking to him and his assistant...as well as the ladies at the front desk. Awesome people and awesome experience all around.
