Dr. William Harvey, a fifth-generation Kinstonian, was honored to have the opportunity to move back to his hometown to serve the community where he was raised. Dr. Harvey graduated from Parrott Academy, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Dental School. Since graduation, Dr. Harvey has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education courses beyond the required fifteen hours as bringing the most comprehensive, up-to-date dental care to his patients is his passion.
Dr. Mackenzie Brown was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. She moved to North Carolina to attend NC State University, where she was awarded a full athletic scholarship to compete on the gymnastics team. Dr. Brown graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences as Valedictorian of her class. She then chose to pursue a career in dentistry and was awarded the Carolina Panthers graduate scholarship for student-athletes. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Brown volunteers with Give Kids A Smile and has helped the local boy scouts earn their dental badge. She enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry and also has a special passion for treating children. She strives to create a comfortable environment for her patients and provide them with the highest quality of care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Brown is married to Dr. Matt Brown, who practices as an orthodontist at Brown Orthodontics in Kinston. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family, going to the beach, playing tennis, taking care of their newest addition, their daughter named Lila, and going for family walks with their Goldendoodle, Cruiser!
Dr. Mary Bec Keith-Johnson was born and raised in Kinston and is thrilled to practice in her hometown. She is the daughter of Earl and Mary Margaret Keith. After graduating from Kinston High School, she went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She then obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine with honors from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After completing dental school, Dr. Keith-Johnson completed an extensive residency at the Fayetteville, NC VA Medical Center where she expanded her scope of practice and furthered her implant training.
Outside of the office, Dr. Keith-Johnson is married to her husband Eric. Besides dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new places, boat rides with her husband, and relaxing at the beach. Dr. Keith-Johnson enjoys being part of the Harvey Dental family and serving the community that helped raise her.
Dr. Caitlin Melvin was born and raised in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. She attended East Carolina University where she graduated with a degree in Public Health Studies and a minor in Business Administration. Dr. Melvin has wanted to be a dentist since she was seven years old, and loved being a pirate so much she chose to attend ECUs School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Melvin was awarded the North Carolina Dental Trade Alliance Scholarship, inducted into the Servire Society, and was a North Carolina Albert Schweitzer Fellow, where she volunteered in the Greenville community to start oral health initiatives and toothbrushing programs in schools.
Dr. Caitlin enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about creating positive experiences for her patients. She is committed to continuing her education so that she can provide the highest quality evidence based dentistry to her patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Melvin and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family, boat rides at the beach and the lake, working out, and going on family walks with their Golden Retriever, Emmy!
Jenny was born and raised in the Grantham community. She graduated from Wayne Community Colleges Dental Hygiene Program in 2005. Jennys passion is dentistry from start to finish, any needs that you have she can take care of. Jenny practiced dental hygiene until 2013 when she joined our practice as Practice Administrator, although she still practices hygiene by patient request. Jenny is married to Neal and they have three boys. She enjoys gardening, boating, and anything involving her family. Jenny looks forward to meeting you and taking care of all of your needs.
Blair has been working in the dental field as an Insurance Coordinator and Receptionist for the past nine years. She says that finding her home in 2017 at Harvey Dental has been a career highlight! She enjoys seeing our patients through the entire Harvey experience! Blair married her country music duet partner in September 2019. In her spare time, you can find her volunteering with the Miss Goldsboro Scholarship Pageant as their Executive Director, singing at various events, and running her online Boutique-The BlueBird Clothing Company.
Libby was born and raised in the community of Bucklesberry and graduated from NLHS in 1970. In that same year, she married Roy and began her job as dental receptionist. Libbys proudest accomplishments in life are her family. She has a son and daughter-in-law, McKeever and Megan, two grandsons, Bailey and Cayden and a granddaughter, Olivia. Libby enjoys being an active member of Hickory Grove UM Church, yard saling, and antiquing. Libby loves being the first person you see and welcoming you to our wonderful practice and great team of dentists and team members.
Sherri graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College in 2000 and has been practicing dental hygiene for 19 years. She loves educating patients so they can be the healthiest possible. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, watching movies and trying out new recipes. Sherri encourages you to feel free to bring some of your familys favorite recipes for her to try.
Angie has been a part of our dental team since 2004. She was born and raised in Lenoir County. In 1995, she completed the radiology program at Lenoir Memorial Hospital and in 1998, she completed the dental hygiene program at Wayne Community College. Angie prides herself on building special relationships with her patients and teaching them the keys to maintaining excellent oral health. She also has a passion for working with children and making their dental visits special! Angie enjoys spending time with her husband, Danny and son, Connor. She also likes spending time at the beach with her family, painting furniture, cooking, volunteering, and working with her sons Boy Scout troop.
Chelsy was born and raised in Duplin County. After graduating high school she began her dental career by attending dental assisting school at Wayne Community College and graduated in 2007. After working as a dental assistant for a year she then decided to advance her career and went back to Wayne Community College for dental hygiene graduating in 2010. She is married to Tyler, her high school sweetheart and they have two daughters, Alexandria and Scarlette.
Taylor was born and raised in Wayne County. She graduated from Wayne Communitys Dental Hygiene program in 2017. She truly loves her job as a hygienist! Outside of work, she enjoys hunting and fishing with her husband, Tyler. They have two fur babies, Emma Lou and Bleu. In her spare time, she is usually cooking, painting furniture, or getting some salt water therapy.
Amber is a graduate of South Lenoir High School and a 2011 Dental Hygiene Graduate of Wayne Community College. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon and their two children, Everhett and Holland. Amber loves her job as a dental hygienist and enjoys getting to know her patients.
Jennifer was born and raised in Richlands, NC. After finishing high school there, she began pursuing her career in dental assisting at Coastal Carolina Community College and graduated in the summer of 1995. Jennifer has enjoyed being a dental assistant for over 20 years now. In 2005, she married Scott. In June 2006 they had a son, Camden. He is the joy of their lives and keeps them very busy with baseball and basketball. Jennifer also enjoys traveling, working in the yard and spending time with her family and three small dogs. She enjoys being a dental assistant and looks forward to what the future holds at Harvey Dental.
Amy has been working as a dental assistant since 2000. She truly loves what she does. Forming relationships and earning patients trust has always been a passion of hers. Outside of work, she has a wonderful family that she adores, Saylor, Zoe, and fur baby Izzy. She thoroughly enjoys spending time with her children on the ball fields. In her spare time, she likes to indulge in a little beach therapy. She is looking forward to meeting you and addressing your dental needs.
Jessica graduated from the dental assisting program at Wayne Community College in 2013. From a very young age, Jessica enjoyed going to the dentist, which eventually led to her passion for dentistry. She was born and raised in Greene County and currently resides there with husband, Chase. They enjoy spending time with their Boxer, Hank and Lab, Ziggy. She enjoys spending time with friends and family traveling to new places. To Jessica, the most rewarding part of her job is giving people the confidence in their smile and making them feel relaxed and comfortable in the dental chair.
Casey has been working as a dental assistant since 2008. She loves the bond she forms between her and her patients, providing patient care and earning their trust. She currently resides in Deep Run, NC with her husband, Mark and their son, Clayton and two fur babies, Bruiser and Daisy. In her spare time, you can catch her being on island time or farming.
Heather graduated from the dental assisting program at Wayne Community College in 1998. She has enjoyed working in the dental field now for over 20 years. The favorite part of her job is being able to connect with her patients, creating a relaxing environment. She is happily married to Joel, since 2001, and has three beautiful children, Taylor, Addison, and Easton, and two fur babies, River and Leia. She enjoys shopping and spending time on the boat with her family.
Chelsea graduated from Wayne Community Colleges Dental Assisting program in 2020. She currently resides in Dover, NC with her fianc Gavin and their son Aaden. They have two sweet lab babies, Saddie and Belle. In her spare time, you can find her somewhere near the water or with her family! She looks forward to meeting you and helping with all of your dental needs.
