Dr. James C. Calcagno, DDS is a graduate of the University of the Pacifics School of Dentistry, Dr. James Calcagno brings to his practice an integrated background in the biological, chemical, and physical sciences as well as a sophisticated knowledge and application of dental health technologies.
Dr. Calcagno pursues continuing education to keep current on new procedures and methodologies. He is also a member of prominent dental associations and an avid reader and researcher of professional journals dedicated to the very latest in dental care practices.
Sue Ellen: Business Manager Sue Ellen has been the business manager at the office since 1995 and has a background in sales and event coordination. She enjoys collaborating with a multi talented team along with the many outstanding patients in the dental practice.
In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and traveling, along with spending time with family and friends. She is incredibly proud to be able to give back to the community by being a part of a successful local business.
Reina: Office Manager Reina has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1999 and joined the team in 2011. Over the years she moved up to the front desk and does a wonderful job there! In her free time, she enjoys doing a lot of hot yoga and spending time with her husband, daughter and son.
Luis: Registered Dental Assistant Luis is a dental assistant who graduated from the Regional Occupational Program and has been with the team since 2011. He brings a unique flair to the office with his personal style and professionalism. He is married and his wife is also a dental assistant! He enjoys spending time outdoors, playing volleyball, soccer and going to the gym in his free time. He has grown with the team and both patients and team members enjoy working with him.
Lindsay: Registered Dental Hygienist Lindsay was born and raised here in Santa Cruz and loves serving her hometown community. She enjoys getting to know the patients and building professional dental health relationships with them over the years. She follows in the footsteps of her mother Len, a former member of Dr. Calcagnos hygiene department. Lindsay graduated from the University of the Pacifics Dental Hygiene Program, and she has been a team member since 2014. In her free time she enjoys long walks on the beach with her soon to be husband Conor and her four legged friend Ziggy. She enjoys meeting friends for coffee and sharing the many blessings in life. She always appreciated a good joke and a warm smile.
Betsy: Dental Assistant Dentistry is my passion. I hope to be able to travel and share my knowledge with people who have very little access to dental health care. I moved back to Santa Cruz after a 20 year hiatus, and enjoy being a part of the dental team.

Been going here for like 17 years or so and it's the best dental office I've been to in Santa Cruz by far. It's even better now due to the great remodel and the staff is better than ever! If you live in the Santa Cruz area go here!

Dr. Calcagno is an excellent dentist. He and his staff are unmatched in their ability to provide quality care in a welcoming and clean environment. My family and I have been coming to Dr. Calcagno for as long as I can remember and now that I have a family of my own I know I can put my trust in his practice for my children. Exceptional care in a comfortable and clean environment! The office is brand new and amazingly clean and organized. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating -- from the front desk to the hygienist and dentist. They took great care of me, my husband and my 3.5 yr old son on his first dental visit. We will certainly return for future dental services!

Dr. Calcagno is a talented dentist, honest, professional, compassionate, & caring. I've had other dentists, but I didn't know how to gauge quality of care until our family began seeing Dr. Calcagno. He's a 10/10.

I took my sons to Dr. Calcagno on a Living Social coupon and was very impressed. His assessments were honest, not excessive, he was professional, personable and they didn't have the odd..I hate to say 'fake'...but that odd feel some dental offices have. I trust his competence and enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back and I recommend him highly.
