Each day I come into the office, I have the chance to help people live longer, happier lives by giving them optimal oral health. I know I have truly made a difference when I see a patient leave the office with the confidence that can only be found in a beautiful smile. Along with the rest of my team at Phoenix Dental Center, I want to make people feel comfortable and actually enjoy being a part of our dental family.
I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon where I graduated from Beaverton High School and obtained my Bachelor of Science from Portland State University. I then went on to earn my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I had the opportunity to complete my dental externship at Johns Hopkins University, a world leading teaching and research university.
Each year I continue my education, studying the latest advances with the nations foremost clinicians. This extensive focus on education allows me to offer my dental patients todays state-of-the-art techniques with an emphasis on cosmetics, dental implants, surgery, periodontal treatment, root canals, and complex restorative dentistry.
Dr. Eskanos was born inSanta Monica,California. Prior to graduating from theUSCSchool of Dentistry in 1989, he was a dental assistant for two years. Over the 35+ years Dr. Eskanos has been involved in dentistry, he has treated patients in a multitude of settings and environments. Dr. Eskanos focuses his attention on cosmetic, implant and prosthetic dentistry while utilizing his extensive knowledge of alternative medicine modalities and supplements.
Dr. Eskanos was the team dentist for the Long Beach Ice Dogs professional hockey team for ten years and has lectured on the importance of protective mouthguards for the public and athletic coaches, dental-facial trauma for emergency room physicians, dentists and trainers, and dental treatment pre- and post- cancer therapy for oncologists and patients. During his time away from the office, Dr. Eskanos enjoys scuba diving, playing pool and spending time with his wonderful wife, daughter, cats and dogs; he also designs jewelry, and is a professional nature and travel photographer.

We help our patients by discovering, diagnosing and treating decay, dysfunction and disease.We treat their problems with as much empathy and compassion as possible because we know that the care we provide comes at a price.That price is measured by the investment of time and money our patients are willing to make to improve their appearance and in the discomfort they are willing to endure at our hands to achieve their health goals.
The rewards for our care are great. We are paid in smiles, in the trust our patients show through their referrals and in the knowledge that we have the ability to improve peoples lives. Remember that we deal with people, not just teeth. They have feelings, concerns and problems just as we do. We should try to help our patients and each other with any problem that exists.

I'm seriously so impressed by the care I receive every visit. The staff is always kind and helpful, appointments are made quickly, and I leave feeling taken great care of. Dr. Nimri is incredible and very gentle, he has me so happy with my smile! Thank you to everyone at Dr. J Dental!

Definitely one of the worst dental places to go the dentist told me I had to get all my teeth pulled out on my upper jaw because my bone deteriorated to get my bone shaved down because there is too much coming up on 8 months dentist wouldn't even clean my four teeth that were yellow offered me brand new yellow teeth LOL and told me to get white strips to clean my four teeth that were left

Wonderful dentist office. Probably the best I've ever been to honestly. The staff is so nice, welcoming and friendly. Everything is clean and organized. Dr Jason is very patient, knowledgeable and accommodating. I'm so glad i found this place and will continue to use them

I was very anxious coming into the office, but as soon as Juice took me back to a room, i felt very comfortable. She creates a very warm and welcoming energy. She did an incredible job cleaning my teeth, they're very pristine and it motivates me to take better care of them. I honestly can't wait to go back and see her again.

This is the best dental office I've ever gone to. The dentist is quite and reserved but amazing at what he does. He's patient and great with answering questions. I have a true phobia of dentist. I find that choosing Dr. J Dental was the absolute best decision. He will be my dentist for life. Plus, the staff, both receptionist and his assistant treated me like we were all old friends! Such a warm welcoming patient place for a potential stressful situation. I would also like to add. I did not receive a gift card for leaving this review. I genuinely believe in this off and it's staff. I highly recommend!!!

Cynthia was so amazing! I had my wisdom teeth out today and after a few hours I was in excruciating pain. She told me to come back in and she made sure I had everything I needed and helped reduce the pain. She made sure I had the best care and was also very kind and listened to how bad I was hurting. Cynthia also made sure I felt comfortable to reach back out to her if I need anything else. She truly is a great person and does a great job caring for patients. She definitely deserves so much recognition and I am so grateful!!

Dr Omar is a wonderful dentist. The entire staff: the front office, the assistants, the Dr's and especially Karina (who did my periodontal cleaning) have all been extremely kind, gentle and considerate of how sensitive my teeth are and my fears of dental work. This was the first time my deep cleaning wasn't excruciatingly painful. In the past, I've been to offices where they try to get you to spend extra money on things you don't need, but Dr Omar was different. I asked about professional whitening. He said why spend the money, the otc crest white strips can do nearly as good for a fraction of the cost. A true gem!

I got to my appointment on time, was seen quickly and was met by such wonderful staff! I've never felt so comfortable at the dentist and met such wonderful people. Cynthia did an amazing job cleaning my teeth thoroughly with the waterpick (and her tools. She explained the process and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. My teeth feel super clean and I really appreciate her attention to detail, great conversation and wonderful energy. Dr. Zack Nimri was quick and efficient as well, even the front desk greeted me with great energy and laughs. Thank you all for everything and I highly recommend! :)

I'm new to AZ and saw good reviews for this place so I called and made an appointment to get a new crown on my tooth (I had just cracked it) and was also due for a 6 month cleaning and added that to my appointment. I arrive for my appointment and the hygienist spent a total of 9 minutes doing my 6 month cleaning. She didn't use any tools to take the plaque off, she basically used a water pik, put some polish on the teeth and did a quick in and out flossing. Then the dentist came over and barely looked at my teeth and said no cavities all good. Then she said they didn't have time to do the crown part today so I needed to reschedule.... So that's what I did. Then I arrive at my second appointment and the receptionist says "oh sorry we were about to call you, there's a dental emergency (someone needed a root canal) so we are running an hour behind can you come back in an hour?" And I said "no I'll need to reschedule" and she said "I don't think the Dr wants you to reschedule let me talk to him", then I sit there and was told nothing so I went back up to the front to see what was happening and she said "they will call you back in a couple minutes". There's 1 dentist at this place and he was clearly busy doing a root canal and I was not about to have my new crown be rushed on so I just told them to cancel my appointment and I went somewhere else. Also saw this sign in their lobby, which makes sense why there are a lot of great reviews for such a terrible dentist office, all for a $20 gift card. Nice.

I am very happy with my experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming each time I went in. I've had some work done by Dr. Nimri and would recommend him to my friends and family. He is exceptional and caring dentist. He was well aware of my anxiety and made sure that I was relaxed and calm before starting any work. The work I had done was thorough, quick and painless, which is all I want out of my dental work. I couldn't be happier with my experience. Highly recommended!
