Each day I come into the office, I have the chance to help people live longer, happier lives by giving them optimal oral health. I know I have truly made a difference when I see a patient leave the office with the confidence that can only be found in a beautiful smile. Along with the rest of my team at Phoenix Dental Center, I want to make people feel comfortable and actually enjoy being a part of our dental family.
I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon where I graduated from Beaverton High School and obtained my Bachelor of Science from Portland State University. I then went on to earn my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I had the opportunity to complete my dental externship at Johns Hopkins University, a world leading teaching and research university.
Each year I continue my education, studying the latest advances with the nations foremost clinicians. This extensive focus on education allows me to offer my dental patients todays state-of-the-art techniques with an emphasis on cosmetics, dental implants, surgery, periodontal treatment, root canals, and complex restorative dentistry.
Dr. Eskanos was born inSanta Monica,California. Prior to graduating from theUSCSchool of Dentistry in 1989, he was a dental assistant for two years. Over the 35+ years Dr. Eskanos has been involved in dentistry, he has treated patients in a multitude of settings and environments. Dr. Eskanos focuses his attention on cosmetic, implant and prosthetic dentistry while utilizing his extensive knowledge of alternative medicine modalities and supplements.
Dr. Eskanos was the team dentist for the Long Beach Ice Dogs professional hockey team for ten years and has lectured on the importance of protective mouthguards for the public and athletic coaches, dental-facial trauma for emergency room physicians, dentists and trainers, and dental treatment pre- and post- cancer therapy for oncologists and patients. During his time away from the office, Dr. Eskanos enjoys scuba diving, playing pool and spending time with his wonderful wife, daughter, cats and dogs; he also designs jewelry, and is a professional nature and travel photographer.

We help our patients by discovering, diagnosing and treating decay, dysfunction and disease.We treat their problems with as much empathy and compassion as possible because we know that the care we provide comes at a price.That price is measured by the investment of time and money our patients are willing to make to improve their appearance and in the discomfort they are willing to endure at our hands to achieve their health goals.
The rewards for our care are great. We are paid in smiles, in the trust our patients show through their referrals and in the knowledge that we have the ability to improve peoples lives. Remember that we deal with people, not just teeth. They have feelings, concerns and problems just as we do. We should try to help our patients and each other with any problem that exists.

Exceptional services from Dr. J and his staff. They have always gone above and beyond when treating me and my family. I have several friends who also get treated here and we've never had any issues or complaints! I highly recommend Dr. J!

I'm so grateful I came across this dental office. From the moment I called and explained my situation I felt very cared for. Everyone from the front desk to the dental staff and Dr. O has been very kind and professional. They have assured I have been comfortable and made sure I had all information needed. They have been on top of making sure all Auths go through since I'm high risk pregnant at the moment and they have made sure to take all precautions to protect my babies health. It feels like a family here and I'm very happy to continue receiving care here for the years to come. Thank you all very much. You are appreciated. Blessings!

Not recommended non of the dentists are professionals they didn't do a good job they have poor service. Some might like it buy for my experience it's terrible.

I wouldn't go to any other dentist. Dr. J is the best out there. His attitude and patient care are top notch. Great experience been with him 7 years now as a patient.

I am most impressed with every employee here. They pulled 5 of my teeth in about 20 mins. With no pain at that. I highly recommend this dentist. In fact I'll be back to have the rest 9f my lower teeth pulled and get my dentures done here too. They did a fantastic job.

I was very impressed with the organization and professionalism of the staff at Dr. J Dental. They were all very timely, respectful, and mindful of all COVID protocols. Dr. Omar Karaboulad did a very thorough inspection on my teeth while checking for cavities. I always appreciate when professional work is not rushed. Omar kept me informed with every single step that he took during his investigation. The same applies for the cleaning that was done right after.

It has been sometime since I visited a dental office. I came in to get an exam and cleaning, the front office was very welcoming and nice. Dr. Omar and Dr. J were consummate professionals who went above and beyond to not only do a wonderful job but were absolutely transparent and kind as well. I would recommend coming in for any dental work and especially if you have no idea if you need dental work. They will be very honest and up front with you.

I had to have a root canal and an abstraction today. No pain - Other than one slight pinch from needle, which was barely anything. I have been coming here for years. The doc and the staff are awesome and care for their clients. Definitely a good place to take care of your teeth!

Great experience! Adriana is very knowledgeable when it comes to insurance and did a great job of explaining things in words I could understand. Carmen is very welcoming and did a great job of keeping me at ease. Thank you Phoenix Dental!

Want to take a few minutes to thank this place for taking in walk ins. Starting from the receptionist to everyone. Karmen (sorry Im very bad with names) was very helpful and nice with all the information that was given. Really recommend coming to this dentist if you ever need walk-in.

This is my first visit to this dentist office, scheduled an appointment just a day before my visit and it was pretty fast and smooth. Did a checkup and deep cleaning which was perfect. Dr. Carmen really did a great job on my teeth.

DO NOT GO HERE! Absolutely horrible customer service and scammers. They don't want to do their job and are very lazy. The dentist doesn't know his job and messed up my tooth I gotta spend so much Money to fix my teeth. They also lied about my root canal. Find a better dentist and the staff is soo rude.
