Dr. Irving Meeker, one of Pasadenas most diligent general and cosmetic dentists. At the center of any solo practice, there is a dentist. What kind of an individual is this dentist? a prospective patient may ponder. New patients use all their senses and keen intuition in assessing numerous verbal and non verbal clues in an attempt to reveal the character of the new health professional. The patient wonders quietly, will he be caring, do a good job, tell me the truth, as he or she seeks an answer to the central question Can I trust him?
My practice philosophy is simply an extension of my lifetime of learning which has taught me the value of adhering to the noble principles of honesty, empathy, accountability, logic, reason, and fairness in the definition of oneself. What a person stands for, how they will decide and react to any circumstance, should not whimsically determined by the pressures of the moment but rather by drawing on a set of unchanging principles which are applied evenhandedly in all situations. This is my goal and that which I strive to apply in defining my character.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Dentist, is the opportunity to serve and help people. Taking the time to sincerely show an interest in another persons life out of authentic sense of compassion, interest, and caring is mutually beneficial . Because a patient has placed their trust in the dentist, the health care professional, because of ethical principles and conscience, necessarily must be true to the patient and is compelled to give his best effort.

Designed and developed by Dr. Meeker exclusively for the Denmat Corporations no-prep LUMINEERS BY CERINATE porcelain veneers, the patented LUMIgrip handpiece facilitates the delicate and secure handling and control of porcelain veneers during try-in, cement loading and placement.
The device is available for purchase from the Denmat Corporation and having placed hundreds of Lumineers with the LUMIgrip, Dr. Meeker welcomes any questions prospective patients or dentists may have about this highly esthetic, tooth conservative treatment.
Having lived in snowy mountains and California coastal areas during my college years, I attended Georgetown dental school in Washington, D.C. and then married a South Pasadena girl with whom Ive raised four children in Pasadena. Almost a California native, I originally traveled cross country by train from Boston, Massachusetts at the age of three.
This future dentist stepped off the Superchief train at the Pasadena Station in 1953. Accompanying me were two of four eventual siblings as well as my mother and father, a pediatric surgeon. Although a lifelong resident of Pasadena, I spent my childhood summers along the shore in Malibu. It was here that I developed a keen appreciation of the beauty surrounding us all.
Whether it be a gust of wind, the puffiness of a cloud, the crashing of sea waves, the soaring of birds, or even flying fish, I thankfully never recovered from an early deep reverence inspired by our natural world. The colors, clean lines, and interaction of form and function to this day continually motivate my interest and artistic expressions in an attempt to reflect that beauty.
During the creative process, we harness our imagination into ideas, consider, control and manipulate all the variables in bringing our conception to reality. Beyond art and in a larger sense, it is a very powerful and awe inspiring fact to appreciate that, like art, with the aid of our bodies we have the incredible capacity to turn our thoughts into dynamic action. Each of us is not a mind alone, but guided by our hearts, we have the power to intercede, do good, and physically change our world and those in it.
It is with a Magna Cum Laude degree in Dentistry, an artists eye for color, form, and the pursuit of excellence, and a sincere interest in and strong desire to help people that I conscientiously apply all my skills for my patients benefit and find meaning in the profession of dentistry.

JUST STAY AWAY FROM THAT OFFICE AND FROM THAT DOCTOR. I wish there was availability to put "Zero" stars. I hate when people lie, especially if this is a doctor. We called him before going there and asked about the consultation price. When I went there for the "FREE" consultation, he said that in order to give the right option for my tooth he needs to take off the crown and then to recement it back. I said OK. He took off the crown looked at my tooth and gave me a couple of options for the treatment, all of them were a lot expensive than the price I got from another doctor. About a week later I got a call from their office and they asked me what is my decision. I told them that I went to another doctor and started my tooth treatment with him. After 6-8 months they called me and told me that I need to pay for recementing I told them that it was a free consultation and that doctor never told me that he will charge me, they said OK and hang up now a 1.5 years later I'm getting a final notification that my bill should be paid and if not paid they will send me to collection. SERIOUSLY? ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I called them and they told me that the doctor is retired. So what? LOL, that means that you should bill me and send or send it to a collection? Just listen to my advice don't waste your time or money on this place

Dr Meeker is a wonderful Doctor. Dedicated , knowledgable and thorough. I appreciate the way he works, always explaining what he does and why, but also takes the time to ask questions and to acknowledge your input and concrens. Great staff too.

It is always great to see the staff and Dr. Meeker, whether I am getting my teeth cleaned or some other dental issue is being so adeptly handled by Dr. Meeker, the consummate professional. All of his staff are kind, efficient and effective, professional and generous of spirit! Kudos to all!

I originally posted a very negative review based not on Dr Meeker's dentistry skills, but on the spamming behavior of the service he employed for electronic communication with his patients. We've since talked about this and the hope is that this spamming behavior will be dialed back! Apart from his choice in electronic communication providers, I have NOTHING BUT PRAISE for Dr Meeker. He gave me two very painless root canals, and all my other semi-annual cleaning interactions with him and his staff have been rapid, painless, and professional. I've been with him for maybe ten years now or more, and no reason to change.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Meeker. This dentist appointment was the happiest I had in many years in terms of many things. Dr. Meeker explained to me all my options for treatment. He was very honest and I really felt he tried to understand my situation like no one else would. My operation went smoothly (had to remove 2 teeth) and my face didn't even swell up at all. On top of all his assistant and receptionists are the nicest people and very professional as well.

Dr. Meeker has been my dentist for over twenty years. He maintains the same nucleus of care staff and hygienists, who will cater to your every peccadillo as a patient. Dr. Meeker himself is the calm, steady-as-you-go sea captain of dental fair weather as well as rough seas. However, most important of all to note is that Dr. Meeker is basically painless, flexible in his humor for your personality type, and first and always concerned with your comfort. No need to be jittery or skittish for those who may so incline. He has installed a few crowns and partial in-lays (gold, thank you very much!) on me and it's- Dare I say!?!? -almost fun. I assure any prospective patient that all will be well for you.

I have always had a great experience at Dr Meeker's office from the time I walk in to the time I walk out. I never have to wait long to be "seated", worked on, seen or attended to by the doctor. Everyone is personable, caring, professional.

I was seen on a first time emergency basis. I've never had root canal and crown replacement treatment completed without pain until Dr. Meeker's expert skill showed how it is done. Furthermore he shows in clear X-ray images how thorough a skilled dentist completely evacuates and expertly fills in a root canal. I've had three prior dentists perform this treatment on my teeth before and none of the above could be said about those experiences. Oh, and the staff was amazing too. Cost was very reasonable. Highly recommend.
