Our office has three team members who strive to make the patients visit pleasant and enjoyable. Each team member is enthusiastic about keeping abreast of the most recent technologies and treatments available.

We view each patient as an individual. Each team member works exceptionally hard to understand and treat the problems or concerns of each patient in a timely and professional manner. A Washington State native, Dr. Yount grew up in Bremerton Washington the oldest of three children. He attended the University of Washington for one year prior to his acceptance to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering in 1972.

Dr. Yount s tenure in the field of dentistry began June, 1981 when he graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Yount practiced in Ohio for 6 years prior to relocating to Mattoon Illinois in 1987. He has extensive training and experience in all aspects of TMJ/TMD diagnosis and treatment, advanced comprehensive and restorative dentistry, implants, and dentures.

During his time as a dentist, Dr. Yount has touched many lives. He strives to make a positive difference in the lives of his patients by providing a warm and friendly office environment. His caring attitude, attention to detail, and his insight into his patients concerns is the reason many of his patients are lifelong patrons of his dental practice. His commitment to providing the best quality and most current up-to-date dental care for every age group in his practice is his priority He encourages his staff to update their skills by attending continuing education courses relevant to their area of expertise. Dr. Yount expects the best and is proficient in all areas of his dental practice. He works closely with the most highly regarded specialists and laboratory technicians all over the world to ensure that the dental care provided in his office is of the highest quality. He is an avid learner and continues to train and study in many dental venues

My name is Jodie Alexander and I have been involved in the field of dentistry for over 15 years. I love meeting new patients and helping them become familiar with our office and staff! Continuing education is a key component for me, as a hygienist. I really enjoy learning about new techniques and health related issue that can benefit my patients.

I started my dental career assisting a dentist near my hometown of Pinckneyville, which is located in Southern Illinois. I first realized I wanted to pursue a career in the dental area after observing in a dental office in high school. While pursuing my studies in the field of hygiene at Lake Land College, I also worked as a dental assistant. I graduated with my Associates in Applied Science, Dental Hygiene in 2000. . I am also certified in CPR and administering local anesthetic.

After graduating from Lake Land College, I married the love of my life, Kasey. We have been married for 8years and are the proud parents of two children, Kael, 6 and Tatum, 4. When I got my position as a team member with Dr. Yount, I was working for a dentist in Effingham Illinois. I was very excited about my new position and moving to Mattoon from Neoga Illinois. I was very excited about this move because I only drive 2 miles to work not 30 miles!

In my time away from the office, I enjoy catching up with family and friends. I also like hard rock music, aerobics and travelling. I have traveled to Amsterdam, France, Ireland, England, Mexico, Jamaica and a few trips to Colorado for some snow skiing ( which I have not conquered, yet!)

Hello, I am Laci Shepard and I am proud to say I have been with Dr. Yount at Mattoon Dental since 2009. Working with everyone at the office is the best of my career in the dental field. Dr. Yount is very up-to-date with all the latest technology and strives to give our patient the best quality dental care in the area. Having access to all of this equipment is a blessing because I can help my patients succeed with their dental care needs! My position at Mattoon Dental is very different than most positions because I, not only do hygiene, but assist Dr. Yount, help with the front office and get to work in the lab helping him with whitening trays, and making crowns. I really love my job!

I began my career in the field of dentistry in 1995 when I completed my training in dental assisting. This training really peaked my interest in the field of dentistry and I decided to pursue dental hygiene at Lake Land College in Mattoon Illinois. I graduated from Lake Land in 2000 with my Associates in Applied Science, Dental Hygiene degree. I am also certified in CPR and administering local anesthetic. I worked at three different offices before I got my position with Dr. Yount. With each position, I learned a lot, but not until I went to work with Dr. Yount, did I realize how much I really had to learn. He is an excellent teacher and explains every step to his staff and patients.. He wants his staff to continue to learn because the technology and information in field of dentistry is always changing

My family means so much to me. I am married to a very wonderful man, Scott and together we have three exceptional children, Dakota, 14; Simon, 8; and Maggie 6 months. Scott and I stay very busy attending sporting events, farming and spending time with family and friends. In addition to spending time with family, I enjoy crafts, tractor pulling, basketball, baseball, camping and farming.
