I am a graduate ofthe Orthodontic Specialty Program at theColumbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery.Among my academic honors are memberships in Omicron Kappa Upsilon and the International College of Dentists Award for Outstanding Achievement. As a special honor (for a selected few) I was recruited for an Associate Clinical Professor position in the Post Doctoral Program at Columbia University.

I then practiced orthodontics in Manhattan and Brooklyn and taught at Columbia University for the next five years. I have fond memories of my life there, experiencing the many cultural benefits of New York City and I enjoyed being connected to a such a dynamic community of academics and professionals. Also, as a way to 'give back' for the opportunities I was given, I volunteered much of my time to the dental school and several of its organizations. Examples: as Instructor, as Editor, as Vice President, and as Program Director for the Columbia Alumni Orthodontic Society.

I further developed my clinical expertise in early treatment as an associate in a pediatric/orthodontic practice in Natick, Massachusetts. Since returning to the Boston area, I have been a loyal member of the American Association of Orthodontists through the local branch, the North Shore District Dental Society. In this organization, I served as an executive board member andrepresented the North Shore District at the state level. In addition, I ama member of multiple Study Clubs and Ipursue continuing education opportunities on a regular basis.

My practice has grown substantially;wehave orthodontic offices in Beverly,West Peabody and Saugus. I am blessed with a skilled and wonderful long-term staff and it is a pleasure to work with such respected and well-known dentists and specialists of the North Shore Community.

My staff and I are here to provide exceptional orthodontic care and dental health. Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
