I love spending time with kids, trading (and often stealing!) their best jokes, appreciating each unique, growing personality, and getting to know them and their families. It is especially rewarding to help families when they have nowhere else to go: taking away the fear that no one will help them, and showing them that I care and am here to help.
As a pediatric dentist, I have the opportunity to make a positive difference in childrens lives. When children know they are heard and valued, they are comfortable and open to learning. That openness is essential, as I want to teach each child about oral health, and how to keep their teeth and gums clean and strong.
At the same time, by making the office a fun place to visit, my team and I help children develop positive associations with dental care. Our goal is for patients to graduate to a general dentist with their healthiest, happiest smile and excited to maintain their oral health for life!
Growing up, I always knew I was loved and safe when visiting the dentist, and I felt a strong desire to go into a profession that allowed me to really help people. Ive always been great with kids, too, so pediatric dentistry was a natural fit.
My undergraduate studies were right here in the Quad Cities: I graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island with my bachelors degree. I attended dental school, and obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine, at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Next came my pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Iowa.
My residency covered all aspects of the oral health concerns of children. It included prevention, diagnosis, treatments, and behavioral management, as well as craniofacial growth, trauma and emergency care, and safe sedation. It also addressed caring for children and adults with special health, emotional, and developmental needs, and children with complex medical conditions.
That said, the pediatric dentistry specialty is constantly advancing. Through continuing education (CE), I stay current on the latest research, technological innovations, and new materials and methodologies. My patients deserve high-quality dental care, and CE allows me to provide it.
Im a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Rock Island District Dental Society. Through these organizations, I learn from the leading practitioners, by taking courses and attending meetings, lectures, and seminars. I also read the latest journals and other peer-reviewed periodicals.
Alisha and I have a wonderful daughter, Armeena, and a pup, Mocha. Being with my family, whether Im goofing around with my daughter, making my wife laugh, or being bossed around by my dog, is when Im at my happiest! A close second, though, is time I spend tinkering with my telescopes, getting ready for a clear night under the stars.
Being surrounded by children, sharing in their lives and all they experience as they mature, is the most rewarding career. Having a patient leave with a smile even if its a little lopsided from being numb and telling my team and me they cant wait to visit again, is the best!

Dr. Greg, who is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, offers comprehensive childrens dental care: exams and cleanings, prevention, restorative procedures, and laser soft-tissue treatment. He also provides safe sedation options, emergency and hospital dentistry, and welcomes children and adults with special needs.

Dr. Weinberg and his staff were a godsend for my family. His compassion and kindness touched my heart. There are rare occasions in which you stumble upon someone who was put on this earth to do something. He is one of them. He was put on this earth to be a pediatric dentist and I am grateful he is ours.

Was referred to this location by another Dentist. I had a great impression. Very welcoming when getting checked in. Dr. Weinberg was amazing. My daughter was very amused and comfortable the whole visit. I know my daughter is in good hands here. I was worried about the situation. Dr. Weinberg thoroughly explained the procedure. we were referred by our general dentist to Dr Weinberg and were not disappointed! our little guy needed some work done under anesthesia and i cannot put into words how amazing doc & the staff were, so kind and everything you would want for someone caring for your child! i was more than happy to establish all three of my boys with them today!

When our regular dentist wanted to refer us to a pediatric dentist due to dental work my child needed, we were being pushed out at least 3-4 months everywhere we called. We were finally given the number for Pediatric Dentistry and they got us in within 2 weeks time. Once we got to the office, Dr Weinberg was absolutely amazing with my very nervous 5 year old while we were there for her consultation, and then before her procedure (which we were able to get done before any other office could even get us in for a consultation). Every member of the office staff was so friendly and did a great job reassuring my husband and me and keeping us updated while our daughter was sedated. All pricing and insurance issues were very clearly explained up front, and the office worked with us to ensure that the cost was covered by insurance as much as it could be. I wish we didn't live 45 minutes away, because if it were closer, this would definitely be our go-to dental practice! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing dental work for their children.

Would not recommend this dentist. They do not explain procedures properly. My son cried and they gave up trying to do his treatment because the dentist "doesn't hold children down". If they cant deal with crying children I dont know what kind of kids they are seeing. "We are sorry you feel this way. However, the procedure was explained thoroughly at the time of diagnosis, and sedation was recommended as an option. You chose not to pursue the sedation route and treatment was attempted in the clinic. Your child could not tolerate the treatment when started. You are right, Dr. Weinberg does not hold children down for treatment. The psychological damage from doing that can be significant. Choosing another office that fits your expectations of how care should be is in your best interest." The procedure was not explained thoroughly to me. Your office was more concerned about making money and pushing FULL sedation on a child than explaining procedures fully and what to expect. Dr. Weinberg didnt even attempt to continue after my son started crying, he simply threw his hands up and gave up. It's sad that a doctor would rather knock his patient out, so that it's easier for him to work on than working with the patient and their family to come up with a mutual solution. Clearly my decision to go to this dentist was a mistake. I wish your office the best.

My son had his 1st dentist visit with them, & we couldn't have asked for more! The staff is just wonderful with kids, not to mention Dr. Weinburg! Just awesome.

Dr Greg is fantastic with kids. My son has special needs and always used to hate to go to the dentist. Not anymore. My son actually likes going to the dentist. I highly recommend Dr Greg!

Absolutely the best! I love this place... the kids love this place! After mouths of getting the run around, we finally got answers and solutions to our son's dental problems. The best dentist office i have ever been to. My son loves the environment. They have done wonderful work with my sons needs with have sensory issues. The staff are amazing with making things easy and less stressful.
